The Sony DVP-FX750R 7" Portable DVD Player (Red) is a perfectly affordable portable widescreen DVD player you can use around the house, on the road and outdoors.
When you're playing outdoors you'll appreciate the FX750's three-hour battery life and textured design that insures you keep a firm grip as you move it about.
Wherever you use it you'll also appreciate the wide variety of DVDs and CDs it can play. You can even view JPEG pictures and listen to MP3 files. And you can enjoy your music with a friend without disturbing others with the two built-in headphone jacks. (Headphones sold separately.)
When you take it on the road, don't forget the FX750's car adapter. With a stack of DVDs you can keep the kids in the backseat entertained for hours. When you're in more spacious settings you'll find the remote control comes in handy.
A couple of thoughtful touches round out the FX750's conveniences. The audio and video outputs allow you to use it just as a DVD player, enjoying a larger picture on a larger set. And the Disc Resume feature lets you restart a DVD where you left off.

I am replacing a pianist on a well-known artist's cabaret act. He had an 80-minute DVD of a live performance for me to watch and transcribe (write out) the piano part. I went to B&H and the salesman made sure I got a product (that was ON SALE!) that could rewind a few seconds easily. So far I've written out 75 minutes. It's easy to use and a great tool!

Got it for my kids, its replacing a similar Coby player that I won somehow. The Coby was fragile and buggy and it would frequently freeze for no reason (even when new). We've had this Sony a couple of weeks now, the screen is sharp, the controls are laid out better than the Coby, and it appears durable. My daughter loves it. Sound through the built-in speakers is thin, but hardly a deal breaker.

survived the trip to the Wisconsin Dells. I also bought the Sagemax protection plan. It was the cheapest out there, easily beating my other Internet favorite, newegg.

Nicely designed, well built player with a good variety of functions available on the remote control - more than on the base unit. Sound is quite tinny from internal speakers (hence 4 star rating), but since I intend to use the player plugged into a TV this is not a problem for me. Used as a stand-alone portable the sound quality leaves a lot to be desired. Sony should be able to do better. Video quality is good. General appearance of unit is clean and attractive. Packaged with all necessary cables for home or auto use.
