Comments about Samsung BD-C7500 Blu-ray Disc Player:
If you're reading this, you're either looking for a wall mounted Blu Ray player, or a stylish player to set on top of your shelf. This player should fit the bill with both regards.
When I purchased this unit, I was down to this or the D7500, since Samsung seems to be the only company aware of the market for wall mounted players. The D7500 differs in that it uses slot loading rather than a disc tray, can play 3D Blurays, and has a nice silver finish. Given that I couldn't justify spending an extra $100 for any of these features (I didn't need 3D, and the styling on this was plenty nice), I opted for this one. I've been very happy so far with the purchase. The only gotchas I've found so far have been the wifi setup and the connectors. The wifi setup seemed to go just fine the first time I did it, but it "didn't take". I ran through the wifi setup again, and everything worked great. I'm not sure there's a real issue--I just had to run through typing in my security code twice (ouch). The connector issue is hard to really call a true issue--I just notice that there's not a heck of a lot of bending room inside the enclosure provided for cables, so I've struggled a little to hide the cables to my satisfaction thus far. I'll be working on that in the next few days, however, and don't believe that's worth removing a star over. I've also had a minor amount of trouble with the touch buttons on the front of the player, though I'd chalk that up to my getting used to the player at this point.
As for player quality, Blu Rays load fast (compared to my Sony player downstairs). Video quality is very good--no complaints.
Overall, I'd definitely buy it again. The price on this site is excellent, and though you end up paying a bit of a premium to have a unit that will mount on the wall, the price here makes that easier to swallow.

So far I have yet to hook up this player to the Internet. I bought it because it has great features; Wifi capability, built in memory, a myriad of online services, and the ability to add apps and upgrade itself.
Not so crazy about the built in power saving features that shuts the player off if you don't load a disc up fast enough.

Comments about Samsung BD-C7500 Blu-ray Disc Player:
I held off from buying a blu-ray player because of the ongoing development of the blu-ray standard. I am glad I did. The combination of blu-ray and Netflix, etc. streaming is awesome. The fact that prices have fallen has helped as well. So why buy the Samsung BD-C7500?
*Had to get the latest model with the latest tech. Now with deep color, blu-ray movies are as good if not better than 35mm film.
*Interconnectivity: I have a Samsung LCD. The Anynet+ device networking is just great. If you put a disk in the player, it changes the source automatically to the player and starts the movie. The blu-ray controller also works with the TV. All sorts of other wonderfulness that I have yet to discover.
*It has the slickest case and disk changer ever. Yes, I would mount it on the wall but would need some way to hide the power and HDMI cables.
*Netflix streams very well. Pandora is great.
Despite all the media wonderfulness, there are issues.
*Connecting to the network is easy if your router is set to WPA and you broadcast your network SSID. I was using the old WEP protocol and didn't broadcast my SSID. So after reconfiguring my router, I was up and running quickly.
*Network Bandwidth: When I 1st launched Netflix and watched a movie, the quality of the connection was medium. I had streaming issues and every 5 minutes it had to pause. The movie quality was also very pixilated. Very unacceptable. The next morning, I resumed the movie with no streaming problems but still had low quality HD. I then tested the connection on the player and it read .5mb (Need 1.5mb). Today, I tested my bandwidth on a wireless laptop and got 12mb download and 4mb upload. So it is not my equipment. I have 12mb cable service. I then tested the bandwidth on the player and got 1.9mb. I streamed a movie and the quality was good HD. So at this time, I am happy and have boosted my Netflix streaming queue. I know that cable service can degrade when traffic increases. Can't confirm whether this was the cause.
*I did call Samsung Support and found they were out of country with less than optimal English skills and very rudimentary knowledge of the equipment. Not much help.
*I also had a problem when I first hooked it up to the HDMI 3 input port. The picture and sound snapped randomly. I just changed to HDMI port 4 and it worked like a dream.
*I now have seen reviews on bad firmware updates and will turn the automatic update off until a confirmed mature version is issued. Samsung does support their equipment pretty well. My 2 year old Samsung LCD has had several firmware updates.
As with all technical devices, it is not unusual to run into some glitches. Now that I have cleared up my issues, I am really satisfied with my purchase. I would recommend this to others as long as they understand how to deal with the known issues.

great quality on a big screen. This is my first dvd player,,I know, I'm a bit behind. Wanted something wireless but have had problems accessing my home network. Just got it so I'll play around with it. Amazing picture quality though with the Blue Rey disks. Unit really looks good mounted to the wall under the flat screen.
