The Canon PowerShot SD3500 IS Digital ELPH Camera features a high-resolution 14.1MP CCD imaging sensor and an optically stabilized 5x UA (Ultra High Refractive Index Aspherical) zoom lens, which covers an equivalent focal range of 24-120mm without compromising the narrow profile Canon Digital EPLHs are known for. And for composing, reviewing, and editing your photos, the SD3500 IS features a bright 3.5" (461,000-dot) PureColor System Touch Panel LCD, from which you can set exposures using customizable icons and touch AF/AE controls.
In addition to a choice of 12 JPEG file sizes (including 2 @ 16:9) the SD3500 IS can capture HD 720p(1280x720) video clips (with monaural sound) up to 60 minutes (or 4GB per clip) as well as 640x480 @ 30 fps and 320x240 @ 30 fps for lower-resolution applications.
For fuss-free shooting, Canon's Smart AUTO mode automatically analyzes the scene and sets the best exposure based on 22 predefined shooting situations. For shooting under low lighting conditions, the ISO sensitivity of the PowerShot SD3500 IS can be dialed up to 1600, and when shooting in Low Light mode, expanded as high as an equivalent of ISO 6400.
Other image-enhancing features found on the Canon PowerShot SD3500 IS include a DIGIC 4 image processor, Intelligent Contrast Correction, Motion Detection Technology, Face Detection Self-Timer, Red-eye Correction, Advanced AF/AE/FE/WB Face Detection, and a Face Detection Self-timer that enables you to get your own happy face into family portraits.
The Canon PowerShot SD3500 IS records images onto your choice of SD/SDHC/SDXC Memory Card, MultiMediaCard, MMC Plus Card, HC MMC Plus memory cards (up to 16GB) and powers off a rechargeable NB-6L lithium-ion battery, which is good for about 220 images-per-charge, or about 5 hours of playback time.

I bought the samsung TL210 and TL225 and the pics were blah! I returned it after 4 days for this camera and wow!! What a difference. The touch screen is very responsive like my iPhone and the pics are amazing. I took a lot of pics in the dark and they came out so clear. The body is really nice, I don't have to keep cleaning it off because of the finish. It doesn't recommend a screen protector because of the touch pressure sensitivity feature and it's been fine, I am very careful with it. The playback mode is cool to just tap the camera side to playback. I recommend the deluxe kit. I needed the extra accesories and if you gonna do a lot of video carry both memory cards or get a bigger card. The only thing I don't like is I have to get a piece of paper to open the USB and HDMI slots on the side of the camera. It's too thin for your finger or the little stylus on the strap they tell you to use if the touchscreen isn't receptive, ( which it is). Wide angle lens and face recognition and smart shutter are great features. Taking group shots with other cameras while I jumped in the picture, people were gasping like what kind of camera is this it's NICE! [...]

Bought this camera for my girlfriend who was looking for a touchscreen camera that was easy to carry in her purse. So far, she loves the functionality of the touchscreen (she's an iphone fanatic) and feels like the photo quality is very good for a P&S. Shot-to-shot delay is noticeable when taking low-light pics, especially with flash, but is on par with other P&S cameras in the same price range. Fun, easy to use, and respectable photo quality makes this camera ideal for someone who would enjoy a touch-screen, its small form, and using various shooting modes like Fish eye and miniature.

I got this as a Christmas present for my 11 year old daughter. We both liked the touch-screen interface. The picture quality is good for a P&S. It's no camcorder, but she likes being able to shoot hi-def videos.
The large screen lets her review pictures and videos and share them with friends.
For group or self portraits, the camera can be triggered by blinking (very clever), or simply by getting in the picture yourself (the camera detects when a new face enters the frame). Great for group shots.

The second Power Shot was bought for the Wife as the first was. It is because the camera is so easy to use when we are on the Goldwing.
We never leave home without it. She shoots tons of pictures and hours of video from the back of the bike. Super easy to slip into your pocket for the whole day. Reason for the new 3500 is more mega pixels. And it was a Christmas present. I personaly have owned Canon camera equiptment for 30 years and have never been let down by any Canon product.

I was concerned about the touchscreen for this product since I used to have an older model. But I love how user friendly it is, how easy it is to navigate. And the feature to shuffle through pictures with a single touch of the side of the camera is just amazing.
I do miss the scroll from the 890 model but I am learning to live with out it.
I wish it came in blue.
I also wish the shutter speed was quicker so you can cacth those action shots.

I love this camera! I replace my Nikon Coolpix because the autofocus program was unreliable. This is my second Cannon Elph camera. All my images are sharp with great touch screen to access different programs. Overall I would rate this camera 5 out of 5 stars.

Easy to use. Takes excellent photos. Auto mode is good, manual settings are fun and offer choices for ISO, date/time stamp, fun modes and more. I researched dozens of models for months and kept coming back to the 3500 as a good family, compact camera with HD video as well as excellent prints for shooting the kids and more. Touch screen is very responsive and easy to use.

Comments about Canon PowerShot SD3500 IS Digital ELPH Camera (Pink):
You can't expect a really prompt response from an inexpensive digitial, but even my old Canon PowerShot (which my toddler disassembled)was much quicker off the mark both to focus and to shoot. Not only are this camera's reflexes slow, but the sound cue indicating that the shutter has flown is inaccurate.
Finally, after it spends what seems like hours focusing, I rarely get a crisp image. Compared to the (decent) image quality I was able to obtain with my recently-deceased PowerShot, that's pretty pitiful.
The battery is definitely an improvement and it's cute, though. Pink.

It is very portable and great to take anywhere. I keep it with me at all times. It is a backup for my dSLR and saved me for my grandson's 2nd birthday just this weekend. The pictures aren't as good with motion shots, but great for all around shots. Good value.

I had a 5 year old Digitial Elph and was looking for a replacement to it. All I had to do was look at the current Elph line to meet our needs. This camera is primarily used for vaction photo's and concert photo's. The quality of pictures is equal to my Canon G9 Point and Shoot. It is great for a person who does not know much about photography to take great shots without having to think about what they are doing. This camera has been used at several concerts and the musical artists have posted pictures from this camera on there websites and facebook pages. The pictures look just as good as the pro shots on these sites. THe video capability is also very good for such a small camera.
