The AD-800 CD Player & Auto Reverse Cassette Deck w/ USB from TEAC is a desktop CD player and cassette recorder, ideal for installation in professional studios. The AD-800 has a smooth tray-loading drive and is capable of playing back standard CDs, as well as data CDs encoded with MP3 files. CD-Text and ID3 tagging are supported for track identification. The cassette drive features auto-cue, auto-reverse, and Dolby B noise reduction for high-quality recording and playback. It features twin IC-logic-controlled mechanisms, dual auto-reverse transports, bi-directional record and playback, a variable pitch control on Deck 1, and Computomatic Program Search.
The player makes it easy to dub audio from a CD to a tape, or connect to external speakers or a recorder. A wireless remote control is also included to give you full control over player functions.

So far so good. I haven't yet used it for recording so I can't give a full report. Set up was easy and it is providing good sound with both the cd player and the tape deck.

When added to your audio system, this fantastic TEAC unit plays CD's, Cassettes, iPods, iPhones, or any other possible music source from a Line In or a USB stick. It will also record any of the input sources described above onto a USB stick which can then be input to a computer to edit and transfer to any other desired device such as a CD or iPod. Absolutely great looking and quite easy to use at a fraction of the price one might expect for such a versatile piece of audio equipment.

This deck is an excellent tool for converting audio cassette tapes to MP3. I also connected our audio-technica LP turntable to the "Line In" for digitizing vinyls. I find it to be a real time-saver writing directly to the USB flash drive. Excellent!

Everything about this unit is more than suitable. I use this device for dubbing and transfering music data from CD and Cassette to PC applications. I haven't found anything wrong with this unit yet, and I don't expect to. For the price, it's well worth the money spent on it.

It is what I expected and then some. I think the price is exceptional considering that the cassette industry is in its final downturn as a doomed technology. To be able to transfer hundreds of irreplacable to my computer or CD's is very nice. I have live recordings from the 70's that cannot last much longer because of tape deterioration on cassette spools--for some it is already too late. Great product [...]

I've got it as a replacement for my old HiFi stereo system and I was surprized that practically nobody sells/makes CD/Cassette combos anymore, so this one was a rare (and greatly desired) find. On top of that it has USB port, which allows connecting your iPod/MP3 player directly to it. What an awesome product, which plays all of your old and new stuff!

I use this deck primarily to copy old cassettes of music performances to my PC. It works fine. There may be less costly ways to accomplish this, but I am happy with this equipment.

Since we have a number of both CD's and Casette Tapes, my wife and I needed a player that would work for both. This unit was exactly what I was looking for. I love the fact that I can record to a casette tape via the line input or directly to a memory stick via the USB port, then edit what I have recorded and transfer the material to a CD-R or CD-RW. The quality is very exceptable. The 'instructions for use' are ok but could be a little more explicit.
