The SKRM-100 Subkick from Yamaha is a unique low frequency capture device that picks up low frequencies (100-2000Hz) that a normal microphone cannot. Ideal for capturing kick drums and other percussion instruments, the Subkick features a 6.5" diaphragm mounted in a birch/mahogany shell. The diaphragm is reverse-wired, converting it from a speaker diaphragm into a microphone. The special shell focuses sound into the diaphragm, and also makes it easy to use with any drum kit. The specially-designed tom-mounting bracket is attached directly to the shell. This lets you easily mount the Subkick on a standard snare stand.
