High definition TV and Blu-ray discs have a way of spoiling you. Once you've gotten used to those vivid, sharp widescreen images it can be a little hard to go back to standard definition TV and DVDs.
If you count yourself (or someone you know) among the hardcore Blu-ray fans the Panasonic DMP-B100 Portable Blu-ray Disc Player may be just what you need to kick the "missing my Blu-ray blues" when you're away from home.
Its 8.9 inch screen is big enough for a few people to watch a Blu-ray movie or just set it on your belly (it weighs less than three pounds without its battery) and enjoy your favorite guilty pleasure movie in the privacy of your bedroom (or hotel room).
Of course it will play a wide variety of Blu-ray discs, DVDs and CDs and it has an SD card slot so you can enjoy JPEG slide shows and AVCHD home movies. You can even listen to your MP3 collection.
With a lithium-ion battery that's good for up to three and a half hours you could take it on your next camping trip and instead of telling scary stories around the campfire when it gets dark you can watch a scary movie. At home and on the road the AC adapter and car DC adapters respectively can supply the juice.
The player's screen attaches to the main part of the player via a "mono arm design". What that means to you is that you should be able to position the screen exactly to your liking.
You're not likely to watch your DMP-B100 from very far away but if you do the included remote will come in handy.

Comments about Panasonic DMP-B100 Portable Blu-ray Disc Player:
I bought the Panasonic DMP-B100 portable blu-ray player for my wife as a birthday present. She is very pleased with its performance. She had an older portable DVD player, but with more of her movies being in blu-ray, a portable blu-ray player really comes in handy. The picture looks very sharp and clean looking. The sound is weak, but that is to be expected in a unit this small.

Comments about Panasonic DMP-B100 Portable Blu-ray Disc Player:
We use this for all travel situations where we want to view blu-ray or regular DVDs. It has a great screen that can be adjusted in a variety of ways. The battery lasts for more than 3 hours. It does not have the jack for connecting to a full-sized monitor/TV, but for us that doesn't matter because we don't use if for that purpose.

I usually show in the lunch break some movie disc, and its resolution 1024 * 600 the highest of all portable DVD, and fast response within 10 seconds or so, but there is no HDMI output interface defects.

Comments about Panasonic DMP-B100 Portable Blu-ray Disc Player:
I bought this product to watch blu-ray movies wherever I go. It has a very sharp picture. Even with DVDs! Excellent picture quality! Only has one phone Jack and no external jacks so you can't share, but overall quality is excellent. It's what you would expect in quality from Panasonic.

Comments about Panasonic DMP-B100 Portable Blu-ray Disc Player:
Plan to use the player for travel purposes. I see reviews with portable players need to be at the least 1080i resolution to view high-def. This player has a very high resolution for an 9 inch screen and the quality of blu ray movies was very superior. Player comes with a car adapter.
Cons:
Does not have an HDMI port to connect to a large TV
Does not come with a carry/harness bag
Loading of the blu-ray is quite slow.
The audio quality is ok, and has only one ear-phone adapter
Desired enhancement for Panasonic:
Why not hook-up an FM transmitter to transmit the audio to the car radio? Transmitters cost very cheap. Also make this wi-fi connectable to use the TV widgets?

Comments about Panasonic DMP-B100 Portable Blu-ray Disc Player:
I bought this as it is the least expensive bluRay portable player available, and regular DVDs look good on it too.
The construction looks a little flimsy, and the volume control is only on the remote, which I don't like.
Still it works fine, and has a good picture, so a qualified thumbs up!
