The Olympus DM-2 Digital Voice Recorder is more than just a voice recorder, it also doubles as an MP3 player. You can play back audio files in MP3, PCM, WMA, and Audible file formats. The DM-2 supports audible.com, podcasting, and other audio book formats. And you can record in MP3, PCM, and WMA. And when you're recording audio there's no need for additional software.
The DM-2's 4GB internal memory is supplemented by a microSD expansion slot. You can store up to 977 hours of audio to the internal memory. The DM-2 features a battery life of 29 hours (for recording). The recorder also features a 2.2" LCD display, a voice activation feature, and Olympus Sonority sound editing software. The software is compatible with both Mac and PC.

The stereo sound is very interesting. It pinpoints the direction of sound very well.
The only thing I wish it had was more mic sensitivity options. There is low, medium, and loud and I find the gap between Low and Medium to be a bit too much. Medium is very, very sensitive to sounds far away and close up.
The directional zoom mic is a cool feature. It works relatively well.
