I'm a studio owner (30 years) teacher at PortraNet (8 years).
Other reviews said (expensive?) have you priced the 1000+ buck wifi from canon? These things are CHEAP and awesome. I shoot in my studio all day and all the images are transferred to my computer. (even deleted from the card after transfer (optionally) I don't ever have to copy my files. They're transferred all day. The reason Im' ordering a 2nd one now is to have one in the studios (outdoor camera) SUPPORT is great, when ever I had a problem they solved it by software update! (right away) and when we ask for features they come! (which is why they now have RAW support, movie transfer support and deletion of files after transfer. AMAZING for the money!
These newer X2 also transfer files in 1/2 the time of my previous eye-fi pro (4gb cards).

1st off, you have to set up an account with the eye-fi company to use the card. That's kinda annoying, but when you add the fact that the software kept [*]ing out and telling that I didn't have an account (even after getting confirmation email from the company) it's darn right dumb. Go to their forums and you will see how there are multitudes of people have trouble getting their card set up. It took me 5 hours to get it working. After I got i got it working, it has been useful. But with my camera being 18megapixel, the transfer from the camera to the computer (iPad in my case) is slow. Too slow for anything other than a shot a time portrait type work. Forget burst mode shooting, it lags too muchOverall, I kept it, but it should have cost half as much, and the company needs to get it's head out of it's behind and make it so that you can just set up the card/software without making an account, especially if their system is jacked up.

Comments about Eye-Fi 8GB Pro X2 SDHC Memory Card:
I had some reservations about this technology, but the instructions were easy to follow, setup was straightforward, and the Eye-Fi was working within minutes. My Canon EOS Rebel even shows wifi uploads in progess. And, it seems to be a very decent 8GB SD card even without the wifi.
So, at first it seems the price is high, but in the end it's a very good value.

Is a great concept but it will slow down your day because takes too long to send the pictures to the PC or iphone, is also a class 6, so, it will slow down your day.

Comments about Eye-Fi 8GB Pro X2 SDHC Memory Card:
I really like what the Eye Fi offers but getting it set up is not clear and getting video to transfer doesn't look promising unless you have an FTP to upload to.
If all you are doing is taking still photos then this is a great product. It is a bit of work to selectively transfer files but all in all this is a great concept.

Comments about Eye-Fi 8GB Pro X2 SDHC Memory Card:
I bought this hoping that I could use my iPad, my DSLR, and my iPHONE to have untethered shooting. The concept was great, this meant that i could lose the laptop (which weighs 4 lbs) and carry my ipad instead. Set up was pretty straight forward in terms of adding wireless devices to the card. Depending on the settings, I was able to detect the card on my iPhone. For example, if i had 2 or more wifi spots addressed in the card, my iphone would have troubles picking it up. If I set it up so that the iPhone wifi was the only hotspot, it was not a problem.
The problem i had was trying to get the eye-fi card connected to my phone to enable the untethered shooting. It worked 75% of the time, and when it worked i was pretty amazed. In comparison to wired tethered shooting, the speed is horrid. Approximately 20 seconds or more for a photo to show up onto the screen. It takes way too long running on a 3G connection. I'm not sure if LTE upgrades will make a difference in the future, if it does, i may revist this idea. Currently, it is too slow and i spent more time trying to set up the connection than actually using it. If you are buying it, make sure you read the return policy cause you'll most likely need it.

I love the wireless upload features of this card to my computer, and the ability to see my photos from all my devices online (ipad, android, computer)
The Geo-tagging is based on how well Eye-Fi is able to map MAC address your wireless card picks up to Google's wireless location database. Densely populated areas work far better than rural areas and I've had mixed results.
To me however, the wireless upload is the key feature.

In 1DIII transfer rate of a medium size jpg is simply too slow. RAW files are unbearably slow... Worked very well in my point and shoot - but thats not i bought it so I had to return it...

Comments about Eye-Fi 8GB Pro X2 SDHC Memory Card:
Many reviews on the Eye-Fi Pro X2 complain about the amount of time it takes to configure the card. For all the card does, it was no surprise that SOME setup time would be required. I found the configuration of the card to be simple and straightforward. It wasn't nearly as bad as others made it sound.
The biggest complaint I have read about this card was that it transferred pictures slowly. I don't know if people were mistakenly reviewing the first generation Eye-Fi or what, but this card transfers very fast over wireless. The photos taken with my Canon T3i are roughly 6 MB's. This card is able to transfer one file in about 3 seconds. The range may not be quite as long as advertised, but I was able to transfer pictures roughly 40 ft through an exterior wall. Not great, but it serves its purpose of being able to wirelessly transfer. At this longer range pictures transferred in roughly 6 seconds. I have not tested greater distances, but for all I know it may work.
I was skeptical about whether the card would be able to accurately handle geotagging my pictures. In a few cases images have not been geotagged, but for the most part I have been surprised at how well and accurate it geotagged. Some pictures inside a bowling alley were also correctly/accurately tagged, which really surprised me!
I was also skeptical whether or not class 6 would be fast enough for the 1080p 30 FPS video recording. I have not seen an issue with this or with slow refresh times between still shots. I'm not saying that a class 10 card wouldn't perform faster because I have not tested that. But I can say that there doesn't seem to be much of a delay between shots.

After a protracted setup process - not as easy as 123 - for me anyway - this is a fantastic product. I use it to show images on my ipad (direct link) while I am shooting, so no need for a computer to get a hi-res review.

Works very well. I was able within a few minutes to configure the Eye-Fi to send pics from my Nikon directly to my iPad where they are displayed full screen for previewing. The best part is I can still save RAW files onto my compact flash card while the Eye-Fi sends jpegs off to the iPad... very cool!
No extra software is required. An iPad app is available when you purchase the card.

Comments about Eye-Fi 8GB Pro X2 SDHC Memory Card:
I got this model because it has raw support and claims to support geocoding as well. The basic features work ok - it will transfer shot files to my computer via wifi. Unfortunately the geocoding doesn't work at all - although the card claims raw support, geocoding apparently only works on jpgs. This doesn't appear anywhere in the marketing materials I saw.

This card has made life in my house so much simpler. No more wires and card readers. No more changing SD cards. No more searching for a SD card that has space on it. No need to buy any more SD cards ! ! !
The X2 lives up to everything I expected of it and more. It was easy and direct to set up the computer/network side of things. And there was nothing to do on the camera side of things except put the X2 in the camera and start shooting pix.
And Eye-Fi has been great to send tips and follow up comms.
5 stars all the way.

Very nice little thing. It allows me to almost momentarily transfer photos from my Nikon Camera to my Android Tablet, where I can do basic editing and/or show pics to clients.
HOWEVER, I don't understand why in the world do I have to create an account at eye-fi.com to use MY CARD? Also, if you don't use this card in direct mode (as i do), then your pics get uploaded to their website and the transferred to your desktop.
WHY? Why someone has access to my pics??
