Comments about Thecus N4200 NAS Storage Server:
ZERO Starts. Never worked out of the box. Kept dropping drives and losing the raid. I replaced two drives in the first 8 days. If you do your homework and research this company you will find that their customer service is HORRIBLE. Look around the message boards and you will also find that the 4200 has serious issues with stability and keeps dropping drives. Thankfully I didn't put anything that was mission critical on this raid. I trust my 5 year old Buffalo Terastation to keep that stuff safe.

Comments about Thecus N4200 NAS Storage Server:
I purchased this server because of its backup features. I realized after spending hours trying to set it up with my editing suite, that what I really needed was a simple multi-disc raid storage system for video editing. This unit is geared more toward a small office file sharing server. Setting it up on an ethernet network was a complex, time-consuming chore. The documentation is not written for non-IT guys like me. It assumes you know everything there is to know about configuring a network. And to top it off, it was poorly translated from Chinese. And tech support is handled through e-mail only! I finally did get the system set up and it seems to be working fine. My biggest gripe is that Thecus did a poor job of supporting step-by-step set up instructions for anyone who isn't an IT professional.
