The N4200 NAS Storage Server from Thecus is a network storage solution for your home or small business. It connects to your network via 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet or USB 2.0. The server has four bays, each of which can accommodate a 2.5" or 3.5" SATA HDD. Two eSATA ports provide further connectivity options. When using multiple hard drives, the N4200 provides a number of RAID options to give you the option to balance the storage space and redundancy to levels you're comfortable with. The dual DOM design and Li-ion BBM ensure that your data is secure even in the event of power failure or hardware malfunction. The N4200 is powered by a dual-core 1.66GHz Intel Atom D510 Processor and provides a flexible storage solution for all your media or files.

Dual Core CPU for Snappy System Performance
The N4200's dual core Intel CPU can deliver increased system response and handle multiple clients quickly and efficiently.
Unmatched Reliability with Dual DOM Design
A Disk On Module (DOM) contains all of the system's critical software. If it stops working for any reason, your system firmware could be inaccessible - or worse. With the N4200's Dual DOM Design, a secondary DOM automatically reprograms the primary DOM if it fails, meaning your data is always safe and accessible.
Easy Administration with Dual Displays
Featuring two separate displays, the N4200 is incredibly simple to use. The LCD displays critical system information, including hard disk and network status, while the OLED allows you to change a number of different system settings, such as WAN, LAN, Link Aggregation, languages and more.
Dual Power for Untouchable Data Integrity
Sudden power failures can spell trouble for your data. If the power goes out during a firmware upgrade, your entire system could be at risk. The N4200's Battery Backup Module (BBM) ensures that all unwritten data is automatically saved into hard disks, ensuring both data and system integrity at all times.
Increased Flexibility with Dual HDD Profile Support
The N4200 features Thecus' unique combo SATA hard disk bays, which can accommodate both 2.5" and 3.5" SATA hard disks.

Comments about Thecus N4200 NAS Storage Server:

ZERO Starts. Never worked out of the box. Kept dropping drives and losing the raid. I replaced two drives in the first 8 days. If you do your homework and research this company you will find that their customer service is HORRIBLE. Look around the message boards and you will also find that the 4200 has serious issues with stability and keeps dropping drives. Thankfully I didn't put anything that was mission critical on this raid. I trust my 5 year old Buffalo Terastation to keep that stuff safe.

Comments about Thecus N4200 NAS Storage Server:

I purchased this server because of its backup features. I realized after spending hours trying to set it up with my editing suite, that what I really needed was a simple multi-disc raid storage system for video editing. This unit is geared more toward a small office file sharing server. Setting it up on an ethernet network was a complex, time-consuming chore. The documentation is not written for non-IT guys like me. It assumes you know everything there is to know about configuring a network. And to top it off, it was poorly translated from Chinese. And tech support is handled through e-mail only! I finally did get the system set up and it seems to be working fine. My biggest gripe is that Thecus did a poor job of supporting step-by-step set up instructions for anyone who isn't an IT professional.
