The Digital Filter Kit from Hoya offers everything you need to get started with your outdoor shooting.

UV Filter
UV filters are wise initial investments. They help protect your valuable investment from dust, moisture and scratches, which can lead to costly repairs. This filter is multi-coated.

Circular Polarizer Filter
Light rays which are reflected become polarized. Polarizing filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colors providing better contrast. The effect can be seen through the viewfinder and changed by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies according to how the filter is rotated and its orientation to the sun.

Neutral Density Filter
Neutral Density filters have several uses and offer the possibility to achieve otherwise unachievable results. They enable the shooter to adjust exposure without affecting color balance. ND filters appear gray and reduce the amount of light reaching the film.

Determining which neutral density filter yields ideal results for any given lighting situation takes knowledge, experience and a collection of such filters. Speaking generally, the 2-stop value (ND 4x) effectively compensates average situations.

Hoya is one of the largest manufacturers of glass in the filter industry. In collaboration with its parent company, Tokina Optical, Hoya continues to strive to produce some of the best glass on the market. Currently, they hold 40% of the world's market for optical glass.

The kit comes with a handy filter pouch in which your filters will be safely guarded and that will fit within your gear bag.

Note! Circular polarizers are specifically designed for use with auto-focus SLR cameras (They will also work on manual systems and video cameras without problems)

UV Filter

Hoya filters provide additional benefits of correction for Ultraviolet(UV) light which can register on film and videotape as a bluish cast and can obscure distant details
If desired they can be left on the lens at all times for protection

Circular Polarizer

This filter eliminates ultraviolet rays to remove haze from outdoor shots as well as polarizing the light to remove reflections, and increase color saturation, without affecting the overall color balance

Neutral Density Filters Have Four Main Uses

To enable slow shutter speeds to be used, especially with high speed films, to record movement in subjects such as waterfalls, clouds, or cars
To decrease depth of field by allowing wider apertures to be used, which helps separate subjects from their background
To decrease the effective ISO of high speed film (above ISO 400) and allow it to be used outdoors in bright situations
To allow cine and video cameras (which have fixed shutter speeds) to film subjects such as snow, sand or other bright scenes which could cause overexposure

Neutral Density Factors

2x = ND.3 (exposure adjustment = 1 stop, reduces ISO by 1/2)
4x = ND.6 (exposure adjustment = 2 stops, reduces ISO by 1/4)
8x = ND.9 (exposure adjustment = 3 stops, reduces ISO by 1/8)

Hoya Quality

As one of the premier filter manufacturers, Hoya filters continue to made from quality glass assuring the photographer clear, sharp and accurate images
Hoya filters consistently provide even color all the way through the filter; all surfaces are ground and polished to specific thickness and tolerances
Even non-multi-coated Hoya filters have one layer of anti-reflective coating applied to each surface of the glass; Hoya's single layer coating decreases light reflection off the surface from approx. 9% to an average of 4-5%

    These filters are great. The pouch is decent, could be a little more protective and a little less bulky.
    For the price you get three nice filters. These are going on my Canon 100mm Macro. The UV offers nice lens protection keeping it on most of the time, and the polarizer and neutral density filters help take lovely shots, especially when you are working with the landscape and really trying to bring out the actual colors and feel.

          I bought this kit for my recent trip to the Mediterranean. The Polarizing Filter gave me rich blue skys and took out all the glare from the waters of Venice. Definately a great price for the same single polarizing filter here in Canada costs around $80. By buying this kit from B&H I was able to save a lot of money and also got 2 extra filters! Thanks B&H for a great product at a great price!

            Comments about Hoya 67mm Digital Filter Kit:

            This is a great kit. I bought the 67mm filters and I will be buying a step down for my smaller lenses so taht I can use the same filters on them. The filter kit is a great kit to have, UV is great for landscape shots, Polarized filter is awesome when shooting buildings, or through water. The Polarized filter is also excelent when shooting very bright areas. It drops you down a few stops so it's nice to use when you want to reduce glare on leaves and flowers. It depends on your shooting style whether you use it or an ND filter, which this one comes with. I only wish it came with an adjustable ND filter so it can be adjusted to different stops, but this ND8 is very good when shooting on a sunny day, with only having to drop 1 or 2 stops with a very bright sun.

            The build quality is very good with these, I haven't noticed any difference when shooting with these filters on. ND filter is a necessity when shooting video outside, and polarized is a helpful addition. I don't use UV that much, but it's nice to have. Easy to get on and off, just don't try and force anything, a gentle turn works better than a hard turn. I thought I was having trouble getting one off, but when I relax and very gently turned the filter came off... so I have a feeling it was me making the trouble..

                  Comments about Hoya 67mm Digital Filter Kit:

                  I mostly bought this kit for the UV filter. I always keep one on my lenses. I chose the kit because I really wanted to try out the ND and the Circular Polarizer but I didn't think I would use them much. Buying all 3 together was the best value. I used to get flare really easy with a different brands UV filter but I dont have that problem with Hoya. I'm really happy with this product.

                        Great set of filters! I wish they would have added the filter factor on the side of the ND filter. I was able to use my Sekonic light meter to figure it out though. That wouldn't keep me from buying this set.

                                    Bought these filters to go with my 18-135mm len and all I can say is glad I did. I have another Hoya set for another lens and never had a problem with them.
