Comments about Bower XBGPK7 Professional Battery Grip:

I bought this to go with my new K5 and in looking at it was pleasantly surprised at it's construction, which was not too bad. It's not the solid fiber reinforced plastic of the OEM Pentax grip but it was good enough.
BUT-- the rear dial did not work, so back it went. There seems to be a quality control problem with this particular grip, just read the other reviews. I could have gotten a new one, but decided to hold off for a while. I like the way the K5 feels in my medium to large hands without the grip-very comfortable. I still may buy a grip just because of the AA battery insert. Undecided as to getting the original or try again with a copy.
I think that if I kept a grip on all the time I would buy the Pentax grip for it's construction and reliability. But I like the compact size and feel of the K5 much better thab the K10D, K20D which I had previously with OEM grip.

Comments about Bower XBGPK7 Professional Battery Grip:

I have had this for 6 months. Now it seems that it has stopped registering with my K5. WOW! What is the point of having a back-up battery pack if it won't power the camera? I should have bought the PENTAX GRIP!!

Comments about Bower XBGPK7 Professional Battery Grip:

Sadly this item was defective on arrival -the ISO button and the +- button both worked either intermittently or erratically. As I was not impressed by the build quality and did not wish to try out a replacement, I returned the grip and have asked to buy the genuine Pentax grip.

Comments about Bower XBGPK7 Professional Battery Grip:

It is ok for 1/2 the price of the pentax grip. Used it with my K5 & 50-135 lens combo, the grip does provide a much better and steady grip. Very plastic feeling and buttons are not of high quality. I am guessing it will only work for a while. I would spend the extra money on the Pentax grip.

Comments about Bower XBGPK7 Professional Battery Grip:

This is just what I needed. Helps tremendously in portrait orientation - no more straining to hold the camera AND work the release. Seems to interface with the K-7 just fine and appears to be well constructed. My only problem with it is the slightly touchy release button. I have to turn the grip off as my slightly larger hands have a tendency to come in contact with the release and I have fired off a shot or two with the edge of my palm. But that might just be part of the learning curve and for about half the price of the official Pentax version, I think I can retrain myself. It seems to work better with rechargeable battery than with the six "AA" magazine.
