About the Author: Matt Piper has indulged his passion for music technology as a recording engineer, music producer, studio owner, musician/composer, and experimental music promoter since moving to Los Angeles in 1991. He joined the Course Technology family in 2005 with the publication of Reason 3 Power!, which he co-authored with Michael Prager.

In 2006, he authored Using Reason's Virtual Instruments: Skill Pack, an in-depth study of synthesis and how to make your own patches in Reason. Piper can currently be found in music venues around town using his laptop and other electronics to make strange psychedelic sounds with various improvisational groups.
