So far, this arm has been nice and study. I use it to hold an alien bee strobe with a 30"x40" softbox. The compression holds up just fine and I see no functional issues. However, there is just one little thing that bugs me. The compression head WILL NOT come off. And even if it did, you couldn't secure it to anything. A simple solution would be to buy a separate compression head, and use the attached compression head as a grip handle or whatever you may want to use it for.
Overall, great product. JUST KNOW THE COMPRESSION HEAD WILL NOT COME OFF.
