Comments about Kodak 8 x 10" Ektar 100 Color Negative (Print) Film (10 Sheets):
Hey,
Kodak makes film. They make black and white film and color film. This is color film. I put it in my 8x10 film holder and put that in my camera. Then I metered the scene, closed my shutter, cocked my shutter and fired it. Later I took the film out of the film holder and put it in a bag and put that bag in a light-tight box. Then I took that box to Icon and had the film inside developed. A few days later I picked up the film and took it back to my studio where I put the film on my scanner and hit scan.
Amazingly enough the image that came back was color. It was also a good-looking image. Many people would think that the fact that the image was aesthetically pleasing was a result of technique, aesthetic insight and even what lens I used but I swear its not. Kodak has put magic silver gnomes in the film and they magically make your pictures better. It's better than the fairy dust that Agfa used to sell and far better than squeezing oil paint into the back of your camera.
Maybe the only thing that kind've stinks about this product is that it doesn't capture "real." You know, when you're taking a picture of a really hot model and instead of having a picture you'd rather have the model. That's what I'm talking about. Other reviews raving about this film kind've suggested that this was the "bees knees" its more like the bees achilies heel. Cuz if Kodak was totally rockin out the way they used to in the 60s all Mad Men and stuff they'd be letting me leave a shoot with a model in the back of my camera.
But whatever it's color film and thats what it is and thats what I paid for and thats what I got.
Oh yeah. DOn't try to stick this in your dSLR it doesn't work. I tried.

Comments about Kodak 8 x 10" Ektar 100 Color Negative (Print) Film (10 Sheets):
This product was used to photograph dioramas and then enlarged on Fuji Ctystal Achive Type II paper. Super fine grain. I rate it at iso 80 to prevent my blacks from blocking up too soon. Still more latitude than chrome and still wont have that 'chrom-ee' feel, but better, I feel, than portra for objects and scenes that need a little more pop.

Comments about Kodak 8 x 10" Ektar 100 Color Negative (Print) Film (10 Sheets):
I prefer to use Ektar color negative than Fujifilm provia positive film, because the negative film is more easy going under studio light and have more softness. The Ektar is more quiet.

Comments about Kodak 8 x 10" Ektar 100 Color Negative (Print) Film (10 Sheets):
I use this film for portraits and landscape, in natural and studio lighting.
This is the best color film I have ever used. The depth and tonality of the 8x10 sheets are just unreal -- in a good way -- and making prints from an enlarger or scanning is just a dream.
Highly recommended.
