The Bower SX7NIK 2x Telextender (also known as a tele-extender) will multiply the focal length of your existing lens by 2x, and will cut back the amount of light by 2 f/stops while maintaining full autofocus coupling.
For example, using a 2x teleconverter with a 300mm lens will effectively increase the focal length to 600mm. A lens set to f/2.8 will now be f/5.6. With a 7 elements optical design this telextender yields superior field flatness and edge sharpness compared to converters with fewer elements.
Teleconverters are not recommended for lenses wider than 50mm, e.g. 28-105mm. However, full AF operation is only possible with lenses with open aperture of f/2.8 or brighter. Please be aware that AF will work properly only if there is enough light and contrast on the subject to activate the camera's AF sensors. Manual focusing is recommended when using lenses with smaller open f-stop value than those given above.

Comments about Bower SX7NIK 2x Telextender with 7 Lens Elements:
It does what I need it to do, you get what you pay for, it was cheap and it feels cheap as well.
Loosing F stops, not much you can do about that, it's just physics.
Still cheaper than buying a really long and expensive lens that would only get rarely used.

I use it for wild life and it is good so far it does have a rattle in it but still works

Comments about Bower SX7NIK 2x Telextender with 7 Lens Elements:
It works as well as a 2x can work.
There's nothing great but nothing really negative, except
it does have a rattling noise inside.
For the price it's worth it but I probably could have saved money
and got an even cheaper one. I don't use it for high quality
picture taking, just for goofing around with it.
Auto focus seems to work as long as there is enough light.
I have been using it with a Nikon d-700 and a 70-300 lens no VR.

It's not expensive, so I wasn't expecting much - simple telexending with the lens in manual. I was very surprised when given enough light, this worked with my 18-200mm lens in auto!

Comments about Bower SX7NIK 2x Telextender with 7 Lens Elements:
I was surprised to find out that using this teleconverter renders my 18-135 DX lens to a manual focus only lens. Rather than return it, I decided to keep it. My purposes will be for photography done on a tripod in highly lit conditions. Even for sports, the manual focus won't be too difficult. After all, I didn't spring for big bucks for this item. Now I have a little more versatility with my same lens. I don't think the frequency of using the lens at full zoom with teleconverter will be that great.
