The MDR-RF4000K headphones from Sony provide high-quality audio without the hassle of wires, ideal for use with televisions and home entertainment systems. The headphones use digital RF technology to send audio to the headphones at distances as great as 100' (30m). Simply connect the included transmitter to your television or home theater receiver, and enjoy your favorite shows and music.

We use these headphones mainly for 'silent' TV viewing and to listen to music while working in the kitchen or thereabouts. They work well as long one is not to far from the transmitter (5-6 meters, with a few walls in between, seems the limit in our house ).
The sound quality is fine with TV and 'undemanding' music; for serious or classical music the missing bass and flatness of the sound would be an irritant.
The mechanics of use and build are not exactly solid or simple and don't make one expect product longevity, but the headphones are - in my opinion - very good value in comparison to similar products I have used in the past or met in my research prior to purchasing them.

These headphones sold for a great price. The reception was very clear, no noise at all. where the problem starts, is that they are very clumsy to wear for more than 5-10 minutes. They hurt my ears, my temples, made my ears sweat and they are just too tight fitting. I returned these for a full refund. [...] Stay away from these unless you don't mind having your ears and head crushed!

While my hearing is acute, my ability to process incoming auditory information is not. I need all the sound clarity possible to keep up with speech on television. This unit is hooked up to my TV, and gives me the best possible reproduction of speech sounds. Those all-important high frequencies (the s, f, k, and t, for instance)are transmitted clearly, so I am not wondering what the person on the screen actually said, making me lose even more of the content. The headset eliminates the difficulty of following conversations (scripted, or spontaneous) on TV programs. The headset cuts out enough of the background noise that is distracting, without leaving me disconnected from the environment. Yet, this is at a fraction of the cost of an assistive listening device!

Well worth the money!
I use it when wacthing TV and listening to HD radio or CD. The sound is very crisp and clear no distortion what so ever. I have Wi Fi, other wireless products but no iterference.
If you do go beyond 100 ft from the base, you may experience some very soft static will get worst if you go farther.
The self adjusting head band maybe a little too big for some folks.

Sound is great, easy installation, but there is no adjustment for the fit of the headset. I am a male adult and the headset is much too loose. If I turn my head they fall off!
My solution is to wear a baseball cap under the headset. Sonny was less than helpful
