The Audio-Technica AT831CW is a miniature condenser microphone with a cardioid polar pattern. It has been designed for hands free applications in sound reinforcement systems, and for use by professional musicians, especially for pickup of acoustic guitar. The AT831CW provides improved gain before feedback that normally cannot be achieved with miniature omnidirectional microphones. Close up voice and instrument pickup are crisp and clean, yet full sounding, while suppression of background noise is significantly improved over that of stand mounted full size cardioid microphones.
This model AT831CW has been specifically designed for use with Audio Technica's Wireless Transmitters.

Comments about Audio-Technica AT831CW - Mini Cardioid Condenser Mic:
We use these mics for sound reinforcement in a wide variety of live events. They are simple, dependable, good-sounding microphones. However, the cord is a little fragile, but any cord this small is going to be fragile.

We use Audio-Technica wireless microphones in our worship services. From time to time we have to replace the Condenser Miniature Microphone. B&H has exactly what we need at the best price.

Comments about Audio-Technica AT831CW - Mini Cardioid Condenser Mic:
I use this mic with an ATW-T1801 transmitter and an ATW-1801 receiver as one wireless system for video recording. The primary events are weddings and corporate events. The mic is a little bigger than I would prefer, and it is bigger than the mic that came with another ATW-1801 system that I have. But, overall, it does the job that I need done.

Comments about Audio-Technica AT831CW - Mini Cardioid Condenser Mic:
This is the mic we got to go with the ATW 2110 body pack system we use at our church. It works great; very true sound, and unlike the mic we used to use, doesn't significantly lose sound level when he turns his head from side to side. I'd tried to convince him to use a headphone mic to remedy that problem in the past, but he prefers a lapel mic, so we got this one, and it seems to have solved the problem.

I just used it for an outdoor wedding and the cardioid mic is a great choice to help eliminate feedback on a PA system. Sound quality was great.

These mini cardioid mics work great as long as the users don't wrap the cord around the transmitter.
