We bought 25 of these for our school's Dell laptops. They do POWER the laptops, but the circuitry in the Dell laptops does not recognize the charger and, therefore, it disables the battery charging circuit in the machine.
B&H recommended this product specifically for our model computer, but it does not charge the batteries so we are stuck with a product that does not do what we want it to do.

This adaptor is well made, versatile (fits many different models of laptops) and seem to work safely with my Lenovo laptop. The price is also great. Often times factory adaptor replacement will cost you $50 to $80 which is crazy. You can get this one and use it for many different kinds of laptops. I recommend it!
