Coby TFDVD7309 7" Portable DVD Player
With its TFT LCD tilt and swivel screen with widescreen 16:9 (480 x 234) resolution the Coby TFDVD7309 7" Portable DVD Player allows you to watch your favorite movies with very thin or no black lines at the top and bottom of the screen (called letterboxing).
It's not only small enough to take almost anywhere it can easily go almost anywhere. It's got a 100 – 240 V AC 50/60 Hz power supply and it's compatible with both the NTSC and PAL video formats. It can also play a wide variety of disc types: DVD, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, CD, CD-R and CD-RW. It also has SD and USB ports so you can listen to MP3 files and view JPEG pictures.
Your TFDVD7309 also has features seldom seen on portable players this affordable, from its built-in Dolby Digital decoder to its anti-skip circuitry.
When you're not using the AC home power adapter or the DC car power adapter, you can watch on li-polymer battery power for up to two and a half hours.

I bought it because it was a cheap way to view PAL DVDs, but also because it's a portable solution to the drudgery of housework. Video and stereo audio are great (the latter through headphones, anyway), and you can't beat the price. I didn't know it runs on its own battery until I realized I was watching it without the AC adapter!
The only drawbacks: the FF/RW button too easily sends the program to the next track (use the remote) and the "resume play" feature doesn't work after you turn off the power.

The player is even smaller than expected and light-weight. This DVD player was bought to entartain my 2-years-old boy during family trips or while dining out. It work perfectly and the internal battery was the very reason I bought this product: I did not want to send a fortune on something that the baby is going to touch often, but I wanted the option to use it on airplane (without power supply). Also, this player can be used in Europe and with DVDs from all over the word. Last but not least, it reads digital formats (MPEG): it reads EVERYTHING!!!
I still do not know how long the battery is gonna last, but even if it is only 2h it's going to be ok: you cannot have your kids watch DVDs longer than that anyway!!!

This is a good product at a great price. [...]. We use portable devices in a volunteer work with the deaf and hard of hearing community. This little player so far meets and exceeds my expectation. Am already recommending it and the site to others who use similar products. Only wish the instruction manual were more specific about using the USB and SD card slot. It is one of the features that decided the purchase but I am working on figuring out how to convert my video files so that I can store lots of these for reference purposes..
