The Bescor LED-25 25W LED On-Camera Light is a vital addition to your lighting kit, providing that extra bit of fill or eye light when and where you need it. Attaching to your camera's hot shoe--or to a tripod or light stand via the included side bracket--the LED-25 is powered by two alkaline AA batteries that provide up to 4 hours of run time.
The unit's 20 LED bulbs are daylight balanced at 5600K, but are warmed up to 4500K with a fixed amber filter. And, like all LEDs, the LED-25 will never get hot to the touch. Weighing only 2.6 oz (without batteries) and only 4" high, this light can be packed just about anywhere--ready at a moment's notice.

This light has a slightly flimsy plastic feel. The threaded collar that tightens the light onto you shoe mount is thin plastic and doesn't seem capable of exerting much force. That being said, if you use the supplied bracket, which has spring loaded clips that securely hold the light, or if you have an on-board shoe mount that has spring loaded clips, this light works great. For the price, I can get over the flimsy feel (the shoe is the only really objectionable part). Despite the above criticisms, I'm giving 5 stars. If you want a higher quality build, you can pay more for other lights. But overall this light is well worth the money. The light output is surprisingly even, although not very wide; exactly what you'd expect out of a light of this size. The light is corrected using a permanently mounted amber lens to 4500K. Keep this light on you when you don't think you'll need a fill, but want to be prepared just in case. Or maybe in a situation where you need a fill but factors might put more expensive lights at unwanted risk. When it does give out, toss it and buy another one.

I used this light to interview a subject in a remote location. With light on the subject coming in from the side through a window, this light was too weak to fill in any of the dark places on the face even thougth the light was just 4-5' from the subject. And even though it is not very strong, the light is still uncomfortable if look at directly.
My guess is that this light is best when used in low light situations (where it will make a difference) and when the subject will not be looking right at the camera/light. If I were to do it again, I would buy a more expensive light with 1) more power, 2) a variable control, and 3) one that could be plugged into a wall outlet. This light is battery-only and can really eat up the batteries. I also found out the on/off switch can easily be accidentally turned on with just a little bit of jostling inside a camera bag. If you buy this, always carry spare batteries.

Brand new out of the box and it barely weighs anything - which is all fine but I was already a bit skeptical. Put batteries in 10 different ways and it doesn't work! The on/off switch is barely there and when you switch it, you feel like it is about to break! Needed it for a wedding I had that weekend but needless to say, unable to use and am going to return - waste of money - am going to save up on a proper video light!

I use this light for small parties. It makes home movies a lot better when there is very limited light sources. It gives just the right amount of light that you will need. This light is perfect for your non professional needs.

I like this little light. It is compact and beautifully constructed. I love products with little to none screws, with rounded edges, etc. Its light is ok for its size and with 2 AA Power2000 rechargable batteries it lasted for about 2 hours before starting to attenuate. A good thing to know is that when the batteries are running low, the light starts to dimm and not just shuts down inmediately, and this is a good thing because sometimes you need light quicky, even if it is just a little light. Excuse my english. hope this helps.

Needed an inexpensive light to do a short length shoot and chose this light to do the job. As in all LED lights, you gotta do a manual white balance to get the correct color. This light fits securely and came with 2 AA batteries. On a wide shot, the light seemed too focused but worked great when zoomed in to a object across the room. Gone are the days with the heavy battery, hot top-light, extension cord and power adapter for charging.

Base where light attaches to camera or stand broke out of the box. That's when I realised it's a terrible design. Great little portable light but if it can't take the rigors of opening the box how will it compare in the field?
If I could give it no stars I would

I do however, recommend the option of LED-25 25W LED On-Camera Light w/Universal Shoe Mount (5 stars) for about the same price. It's easier for hand held and/or adding an external mic. Great little light. Good amount of power time.

I purchased this light because I shoot video of a lot of live music and many times the lighting situation is less than ideal. [...]This LED light operates on 2 AA batteries (included) and comes with an aluminum mounting bracket which can be attached to the camera and a tripod just fine. Information with the light says batteries will last for 4 hours. I've only used mine for about 45 minutes so far. It does an excellent job of illuminating dark situation with an effective range of about 15 feet. Beyond that, it still helps but is less effective. The only complaint that I have is the hardware that you use to connect the bracket to the light is made out of plastic and "feels cheap" but heck, if that is its worse feature, that's not too bad.I would recommend it to friends.

I wish I had bought this light instead of the 1 hr. rechargeable ones I originally did, but c'est la vie. I recommend Sanyo Eneloops rechargeable batteries to power this approximately 4 hr. LED light. I would have given 5 stars if the switch were flatter. I'm afraid sometime it may get switched on in the case. Hasn't happened yet, but extra batteries will remedy that.
Also, no dimmer, but for the price that's not expected.

The battery life is excellent they last 4hrs just
Replace the batteries and you're good to go. No need
To recharge and wait. This light is powerful more
That what I thought for such a little light.

Got this for a small hand held HD cam, and this little thing lights up the room. Its a white light too. Not blue or orange like most LED lights are. Ok maybe slightly blue, but hardly noticeable. As long as you white balance you'll be fine, but that's the same with most lights. And since this is LED I know the 2 AA bats will last a while, and doesn't heat up at all.

Yes, it is 25 watts of the finest cheap polymer that money can avoid and yes, most of the lights actually do light up, and yes it is not dimmable, so why did I but it? I forget, but I did return it.
Spend $30 more and the get the dimmable version -yes its cheap too - but it is dimmable so when the lights burn out I just turn it up.

Nice little cheapie LED - throw it in your camera bag, you never know when you'll need a little fill light.Make sure you pay attention to your white balance, it's neither daylight or tungsten. But at the price, it's like a low wattage insurance policy for only [$]. You can always use a little illumination to improve a shot.
