I own several of these mics and use them on my 22** series Kenwood Radios. I find them to be built better than the KMC-21; however, both the KMC-21 and KMC-45 provide acceptable levels of audio output, in addition to voice clarity when receiving and transmitting.
My only complaint is that this mic uses a 2.5mm headphone jack (for listen-only) purposes, as opposed to the industry standard 3.5mm. Having said that, standard headphones will not work without an adapter.
