The Kata KT DR-467I-BB Digital Rucksack (Black) is designed to carry and protect 2 digital SLR cameras with an attached lens, 3-4 additional lenses (up to a 105mm f/2.8), flash, tripod, laptop computer, personal gear and accessories. The pack is made from reinforced Nycore grid with EVA + PE closed-cell foam interior, smooth Yelloop interior lining and TST Rib structured protection. It easily converts to a rucksack from a camera backpack by removing the padded bottom camera insert. There is a main compartment that holds a digital SLR camera in the top grip position; while the modular divider system will separate, organize and protect lenses, flashes and other accessories, and a large top compartment that will hold personal gear or additional equipment. A dedicated rear padded compartment will protect most laptop computers up to 15.4" or hold paperwork.
The Digital Rucksack has internal pockets, an MP3 player pouch, external zippered pockets that allow quick access to supplies and a water bottle/tripod support pocket that pulls out from a side pocket. Loop on both shoulder straps allows connection of external pouches to carry a cell phone or mp3 player. An included yellow rain cover; folds neatly away into an integrated pocket and can be hung out to dry on the small buckle next to the handle, or tucked away for storage in one of the pockets. The pack is carried by a molded handle or a backpack harness with waist belt. EPH system compatibility allows attachment of an optional torso pack or waist pack.

I use the product because it isn't just only a camera bag, you have the option of converting it into another backpack. This bag is more for the enthusiast, who probably owns a body and 2-4 lenses with minimal equipment.
Great:
-The camera area is great. I love how i can have easy access to my camera while it is sitting up straight. There is plenty of room for camera gear in there.
-Personal storage area is great for all sorts of stuff.
-Laptop area, a necessity now
-The sleek look of the backpack. When you first get it you might think it is really big, but on your back it looks quite small and sleek, it isn't bulging out like other bags. The personal storage area can get smaller; whereas in the other bags like, Tamrac's they don't, they're stiff
-option to convert it into a regular backpack, not all the time am i gonna have my camera, therefore, i can easily and quickly switch just with a few zips.
Whatevs:
-the tripod holder, it's whatever, nothing super special there
Tips:
Get the black one, the other colors don't look like how it looks like in the picture, they are more neon and annoying.

The bag itself is great, plenty of pockets and room, however I am using a canon 7D with battery pack which greatly reduces room in pack. My major complaint is the tripod holder, it just is supposed to slide into the cup holder on the side and there is not enough room to fit the legs, that and the fact that you cannot buckle the top, the tripod holder seems to be more of an afterthought than an actual improvement, its better than nothing, but if I was going for nothing I may have bought a different pack.

I wanted a backpack that had some extra room for extra hiking supplies. I've used it twice so far, and the only thing I can find a bit wrong with it is it's weight. Don't know if that can be helped though...since it needs all the padding for the cameras. It fits my Nikon D7000 with a 50 mm lens, along with cable very nicely, with room for a couple more lenses. Tripod holder works nicely, holding tripod in place with no movement.

Very good, I use it for Nikon D3100, 18-55 and 55-200 lens(one attached most of the time), macbook pro 13 in. Enough room available other stuffs. Haven't tried tripod holder yet. Love everything else about it.

I used this pack recently for StyleWeek Providence, a week of four-a-day runway shows, and 1000 plus frames a day. This pack held a lot- a 1D Mk II and a 5D body, with a 28-80 L lens and a Tamron 70-200, plus my flash, another Tamron mid-size zoom , and room for more. Access was easy but did require putting it down off your back. The pack has a great feature of a lens compartment that swins, so that when you lay it flat, you can swing the whole section of padded compartment up so that the top or the bottom of the lenses are easily accessible.
I would say the only downsides are that the pack could be better padded and constructed to hold camera bodies. The bodies were protected from the elements, but no dividers and no padding on that part of the exterior, so camera bodies could bounce against each other and not have shock absorption if dropped. The only other thing is that pack could be a bit more ergonomic - did not quite sit perfectly on my back, and straps for backpack look like they may wear out after heavy wear - would have been better if strapes were doubled.
In short - great value and utility for the price.

Got this bag to complement my Kata DW-495. It was a perfect choice as they fit together nicely and allowed me for the exact expansion I needed.

So overwhelmed with the "small-sporty bags," vs the "tour the universe" do-all bags. This one fits my MacBook Pro, more than enough lenses for a multi-day shoot, and it holds all the rest of the junk - car keys, sunglasses, wallet, etc. Not flashy, but the best for this price point and versatility.

I had been looking for an everyday camera / laptop bag for a while. Most "camera" bags were bigger than I would like for this purpose. I had heard several comments on a podcast but there are no local shops with this product. I figured if those guys liked it I'm sure I would. Boy, this bag is impressive. Light weight is an understatement. Now I carry my Nikon D80 with 3 lenses and my work laptop everyday.

This is a handy and comfortable bag. It has room for one camera and four lenses. My camera can fit in the camera spot with a 70-200mm lens and there is additional room for a laptop and other gear. There are small pockets for easy access to batteries, lens cloths and other small items. I am very pleased with it. My only criticism is that the shoulder straps are long and cannot be optimally adjusted for a very small/short person.

All my previous bags where shoulder bags Lowepro Rezo 140aw ( great for going light), Lowepro Nova 3 aw (worst purchase yet because its big and square for shoulder bag without any ergonomics and never left the house, now it's on the shelf for storage of equipment).
But with two kids , going out with shoulder bag and backpack for their stuff is a real challenge. So I was looking for a long time for a backpack that can store my camera gear an additional stuff for the kids.
So i both Kata Dr467i.
It's a great purchase. Very well build construction, comfortable, spacious. Its size is perfect (when you talk about standard size backpack, this is it). In dslr compartment I have Nkon d40x with 18-135 attached, af-s 50mm 1.4, SB400, Giottos Rocket Air Blower(medium), power cords, and Canon camcorder Legria FS200.
The upper compartment can hold 2 bottles of water, 2 bags of snacks and some toys.
Laptop compartment is spacious for 15.6 inch laptop, and the 10 inch netbook can be stored inside horizontally.
The only complaint would be sd cards storage. It would be nice to have pocket specially for sd card like in Lowepro line of bags.
Overall very, very, very happy with this backpack.
I think I am done buying bags anytime soon.

The small details make all the difference; high quality zippers with covers to make sure they don't open accidentally and supports to make sure you don't pull the open flap so hard that it rips, high visibility interior so you can find things, and removable camera compartments so you can use it as a day pack. The last item was important to me - many camera backpacks can't be opened while you are wearing them without having everything fall out. With this one, my wife can open the camera section and access everything without worrying about anything being dropped.
I considered dropping a star because there is no external pocket for a water bottle, and because there is no easy way to stow the waist belt, but decided those two flaws were more than offset by the fantastic price.
Overall, highly recommended.

This is a great sized backpack for a daily uses.
The camera pocket is nice and fits basic camera stuff just fine. Fits the body, two lenses and some other necessities (hoods, cables, timer and etc.), I guess you could pack more stuff in, but it wouldn't be as realiable opening without anything falling.
The part that actually get on your back is kinda hard, but I assume it's because it's brand new and it will easen a little bit.
The little pockets are great, and the main pocket is larger than what I expected on the pictures.
Seem I'll be using this Kata system for fixing up a waist part with it.

Well-built, very comfortable on the shoulders. I like the two-compartment design. Only wish the camera could be a little more accessible, but it's quite minor compared to all the other good things about this bag.

I have only owned Kata backpacks and have never been disappointed. They are built to last and have tons of room to store your gear and protects it so you never have to worry about your gear getting damaged. They also have great prices for what you are getting. I would recommend this bag to everyone.

This backpack is not overly large and heavy, It fits my Nikon D300, SB800 flash and Mac laptop well. I may invest in the rolling rack for it as well. Overall, it is exactly what I expected and wanted. If you have a lot of gear, you may want to consider a larger pack.

I carry a Nikon D90, two lenses, flash, laptop and many smaller accessories with more than plenty of room. The backpack is very durable and will last a very long time. The think is lacks is that I wished it had some smaller zip pockets inside the upper compartment to contain those smaller items you may have. (ex. flash triggers, remote control, lense caps ect) Can put together my own though. Great bag otherwise.
