Let's face it. Foam doesn't age as well as Dick Clark. Over time, the foam on shotgun windscreens can contract, allowing them to fit more loosely than when they were brand new. I live in Ohio and like to buy from local companies when I can. So I use an Audio Technica AT897 on top of my Sony PMW-EX1. The old windscreen was fitting very loosely and, one day during a lot of equipment moving, came off. Time for a replacement. The new one fits snugly and tightly. The price is reasonable, and there's nothing better than original equipment. Nat sound is coming through loud and clear -- and without wind noise these days.

Comments about Audio-Technica Shotgun Microphone Windscreen:
For its price, I got 3 of them and used with my NOT AUDIO-TACHNICA mics (Sanken CS-1 made a review for these mics. I got 2 and Sennheiser ME-66 got 2 of these too) . The originals cost a fortune (for me). But these AT foam windscreen does their job whether your mic is AT or not.
Only limitation is the length. You can't use this for an MKH-816 for sure.

This windscreen AT8134 from Audio-Technica fits perfectly on my Schoeps CMIT5U.
It is approx. 1 inch longer than the original W140 but works perfectly too (e.g. as a spare windscreen).
I recommend it for indoor use only.

Godd price, and great to have spare parts once your old windscreen is worn off

This windscreen also works well on a ME-66 Shotgun Mic. I chose this option as it was more value for the dollar, and it's proven itself in the field as well.
