HP / Hewlett Packard CB867A Officejet 4500 All-In-One Printer
The affordable HP Officejet 4500 All-In-One Printer prints, copies, scans, and faxes. You can print professional quality borderless photos, brochures, product sheets, pamphlets, and even transparencies in B&W and color. It has a built-in Ethernet for sharing the printer with multiple computers and connects to your computer via a USB 2.0 connection if you are not networked. It boasts maximum print speeds up to 28 pages per minute (ppm) in black and up to 22 ppm in color, and laser-quality documents at up to 6 ppm in black and up to 4 ppm in color.
The Officejet 4500 comes equipped with a 100-sheet input tray and 20-sheet Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) and boasts a monthly duty cycle of 3000 pages which help maintain a steady workflow.
The built-in flatbed scanner can handle documents up to 8.5 x 11.7" with resolutions up to 1200 dpi and can print a borderless photo up to 8.5 x 11". The copier can deliver up to 90 copies at speeds up to 28 copies per minute (cpm) in black and 22 cpm in color in true-to-original quality. The full-featured fax with a memory of up to 100 pages supports a junk fax barrier to cut down the receiving of unsolicited transmissions, handles up to 90 speed dials and can broadcast to 48 locations.
The Officejet 4500 is Windows (including Windows 7) and Mac compatible and this productive and reliable multifunction printer is a low-cost solution for home and office needs.

The two things I love most is the top feeder for copies and the networking capability. No more loading one page at a time on a scanner bed. The first thing I copied was my Will. You can imagine how long it would have taken standing there changing out one page at a time. The networking allowed me to just plug it right into the router and since I use Windows 7 I just went to "add printer" and followed the steps to have my printer up and running in just two minutes. I love this thing. I would have given 5 stars if it also was a wireless printer.

Setup was easy enough, pay attention to the trash they want to install. HP puts way too much spamware (seriously, a word that means defecation and starts with a C is not allowed? what a bunch of rectums.)with it; it lost them a star. Do I really need a program to buy stuff from HP? Do they have so little faith in their website that they have to write an app to take you there?
Is there a good reason to create a proprietary cord? Maybe they just want me to take another star off.
The "we want to track your usage" prompt that came up a week after installing it cost them another star.

I use my computer at home. I have been able to sign and scan documents and email them. I was fiddling with the printer trying to learn how to scan and a window popped up on my computer, telling me how to do it. I don't know everything about my new printer yet, but I have confidence that it won't be hard to learn.

I run a small home office, and my new Officejet 4500 is just right for the task. It does a great job of scanning, printing, and copying. It does none of these with blistering speed, but it is reliable, and for the price, I can't imagine a better product. My only beef is with the pricey ink cartridges, but I plan to buy the extra-large optional cartidge and get it refilled locally.

I use this printer for personal use on a daily basis. No one else must be printing photos on this, as the ratings are good and the photo quality that I experience is fair at best. I'd be embarrassed to show these photos to anyone. I thought I was getting a nice small sized printer for a great price. Now I have to buy another printer that will print photos with a better quality.

It is pretty straight forward and easy to operate. The read out is very easy to read and understand. Feeding the original in the top is easier than most copiers. Works well, copies well but you can't leave it set on fax like I did or it automatically answers the phone. A day without messages wasn't so bad.
