HP / Hewlett Packard CN547A Officejet 4500 Wireless All-In-One Printer
The affordable HP Officejet 4500 All-In-One Printer prints, copies, scans, and faxes. You can print professional quality borderless photos, brochures, product sheets, pamphlets, and even transparencies in B&W and color. It has a built-in wireless 802.11 b/g interface for sharing the printer with multiple computers without the hassle of running long cables from different areas of your workspace. It boasts maximum print speeds up to 28 pages per minute (ppm) in black and up to 22 ppm in color, and laser-quality documents at up to 6 ppm in black and up to 4 ppm in color.
The Officejet 4500 comes equipped with a 100-sheet input tray and 20-sheet Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) and boasts a monthly duty cycle of 3000 pages which help maintain a steady workflow.
The built-in flatbed scanner can handle documents up to 8.5 x 11.7" with resolutions up to 1200 dpi and can print a borderless photo up to 8.5 x 11". The copier can deliver up to 90 copies at speeds up to 28 copies per minute (cpm) in black and 22 cpm in color in true-to-original quality. The full-featured fax with a memory of up to 100 pages supports a junk fax barrier to cut down the receiving of unsolicited transmissions, handles up to 90 speed dials and can broadcast to 48 locations.

This printer is somewhat slow, but the copies are reasonably crisp for an under $100 unit. The scan and copy functions work nicely. I haven't set up the fax yet - it's a bit more complicated - and I don't know if I will.
I mentioned my 3 computers: 2 are PCs and 1 is a Mac. The Mac was trickier to configure, and I finally resorted to calling HP's tech support. They walked me through it and confirmed a Mac may not pick-up the networked printer. But it was a quick fix once I was pointed in the right direction.
This printer is not built for heavy use. It's just too slow, and the ink cartridges are small. But for home use, it's a very good unit at the price.

The setup manual is difficult for me to follow and the online user guide is completely unclear. It's not up to the standards of the many HP products I've had over the years.
The display requires too many choices to just do a simply job, and all those choices are there and work.
The machine is very noisy, burbling and clanking as it proceeds. It makes me laugh!
And none of this matters at all for my use. I'm content with my choice.

This low price All-In-One printer does the job well but do not expect it to work as well as the higher-priced models. I have not yet tried printing a large report, but the output tray design looks like it might start spilling the paper onto the floor. Note that while it does support wireless, it does not have a wired Ethernet port.
I had some problems with the wireless network setup. The internal printer wireless setup software seems buggy.

For the price this is a good machine. However it doesn't have double sided print and it doesn't do double sided scanning. Scanning is quite slow. But the setup was easy, it seems to be economical on ink, and the wireless is great. Overall, its a good cheap machine.

I use the printer & scanner for a few important documents in a remote location when I can't get to my main printer.
The HP4500 is very simple to use - yes, it's noisy - but it didn't cost me an arm & a leg either. I don't think I could find a better printer for a lower price from any other vendor than B&H.
The instructions came up a little short for the explanation of how the print cartridges are installed. It frustrated me for a few minutes, but I succeeded by myself. I needed more pictures that weren't provided in the assembly directions.

Right out of the box we felt like if we touched it wrong it would break. Every copy that it made from the top loader printed with a line down the page. There was no Manuel that came with it and the wireless connection didn't work. If I could give this less than one star I would. I returned it right away.

The color on the printer is very good considering the price. I have worked with several inkjet printers and the definition on this one is very good. It was not too difficult to set-up. Since setting up is not my strong point with electronics I was pleased that I did not have to call customer service at all.
I would recommend it. For the price, it is a very good deal.
