Comments about Panasonic VW-W4607 Wide Conversion Lens (0.7x):
I bought this lens to use with my HDC-TM900, and it really increases the amount the camera takes in. I haven't used it in any videos yet, but I put it on my camera when it arrived to see how it would look. With it on, it could see wall to wall in my room. The only problem it has is that it's very heavy for the HDC-900 series. It also has a very slight distortion effect which I slightly reduced by putting the lens on my filter instead of just the camera.

Comments about Panasonic VW-W4607 Wide Conversion Lens (0.7x):
I use this lens mainly for indoor family shots and for mountainous scenery. It does make my HS-700 slightly forward heavy, but this added weight is negligible. There is no loss in image quality and the picture is almost completely distortion-free. The camera can fully zoom through the lens without any noticeable vignetting.

Comments about Panasonic VW-W4607 Wide Conversion Lens (0.7x):
I have a Panasonic HDC-TM700 and I use it to shoot interviews, make films and also for family use. I've always found a wider angle makes things, especially wide shots and movement, more dynamic. And this lens does that! Terrific clarity and no vignetting. However, the lens is BIG and HEAVY... but you get used to it. It also doesn't have any threading to allow for additional filters, just the lens cap.

Comments about Panasonic VW-W4607 Wide Conversion Lens (0.7x):
The lens works great with our Panasonic tm700. We use it to video the band my husband plays in. We needed to be close and wanted to get all the players. It is able to get the entire stage and we are still able to zoom without losing detail. This is in low light and works well. It is heavy so if using a tripod it may let the camera drop forward.

I bought this lens to use it with the HG-HMC40
using a step up ring 43-46mm, I prefer this over the vw-4307 because it can be used also with 46 mm
cameras, and the amazing sharpness you can get during the full zoom, is sharp in tele as well as in wide

I have a panasonic tm700k which I purchased a month prior. I have owned the lower cost conversion lens but they don't work when you zoom. This unit allows for a full range without distortion. It's pricey, heavy but it's all relative. I do feel that the weight balance makes the camcorder lens heavy but you get used to it. I'd give it 5 stars if there were a better lens cap since it's really delicate. Oh yeah, I paid [$] then the day I receive it, it's listed at [$]. We'll see if BH offers a price reduction...

Today, I took my Panasonic TM700 and VW-W607 Wide Conversion lens up a 700 foot hill that overlooks the Edna Valley on the Central Coast of California.
The lens enabled me to take some spectacular scenic shots of the long valley. This lens is a must for this camera if you want to take scenic pictures outdoors.
Now, if Panasonic would just make a telephoto for this camera that was as good as this...

Comments about Panasonic VW-W4607 Wide Conversion Lens (0.7x):
A full-range zoom conversion lens, the VW-W4607H does what it's supposed to do quite well. A bit pricey but the half pound weight of the unit reveals that there is a substantial optical system inside. Distortion is acceptable. 0.7X wide coverage gives approximately 24mm equivalent coverage, just what's needed for indoor shots in our house. I thought I was going to return the much lighter and more limited VW-WE08H (cannot focus past 4X zoom) but have decided to keep it as I find it complementary. Only downside is you that you cannot use the flash when taking a photo with the lens installed. This is unlike my old DV Sony DCR-PC120BTwhich has a pop-up flash rather than a flash in the mounting face at the front of the camcorder lens. This lens weighs over half a pound and significantly changes the balance of the TM-700 and makes it more fatiguing to hold with one hand.

Comments about Panasonic VW-W4607 Wide Conversion Lens (0.7x):
It gives you 30% wider view. An ideal lens for wide shots on confined spaces or taking landscape scenery video. But it brings along distortion and gains some weight to your camcorder. More info @ [@]
