Pearstone LCD Screen Protector for Canon 5D Mark II, 40D, 50D & Sony Alpha A900
The Pearstone LCD Screen Protector is a dedicated protector for Canon 5D Mark II, 40D, 50D & Sony Alpha A900 Digital SLRs. Made of 1mm thick polycarbonate, it protects your valuable camera's screen from dirt, scratches and oily fingerprints. Plus, it blocks UV rays while allowing 92% visible light transmission so the images you see are not affected. It is easily mounted to your camera's LCD screen with an adhesive backing. Once it is properly aligned it is smoothed down with a clean cloth and you are ready to go.
Note! Environments with excessive heat and/or humidity will shorten the useful life of the screen's adhesive.

This is a GREAT product!! I love that the plastic is a think plastic guard as opposed to the soft, pliable screen protectors that I've dealt with in the past.
The protector literally covers the entire LCD screen on the back of the Canon 5D Mark II, without leaving any portion in the slightest left uncovered.
The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 was due to the difficulty in putting on the screen. Of course, this may be just me, but you have to lay the screen just right and press with just enough force to make the edges stick to the screen so that there is not a bubble in the center of the LCD. Since the protector is not bendable, you have to do this quickly and accurately, or you risk trapping lint under the screen protector.
Past that, there are no flaws with the screen protector in the least! I only wish the package came with a small one to fit the screen on the top of my Canon 5DMII.

Installed easy and it will protect the LCD screen, but there is a haze on the inside of the screen protector that degrades the image display quality. I am not sure I can take the protector off to clean it without damaging the adhesive so I just left it alone. But it bothers me. I was extremely careful when I put the protector on, and I didn't touch the inside of the protector. So that haze problem was there from the start.

It protects however it was difficult to install and I was left with a few bubbles underneath. Afraid to push to hard on the screen when installing for fear of damaging the camera. It does protect and that was the goal.

Does what it is intended to do. But explanation on how installing it is not enough. Difficult to know which side is the adhesive, but when you find it (it is under the hard plastic you have to remove first), you have to adjust it, and please don't press too much the center of the screen protector, you'll have it sticked on you lcd screen and the rainbow will appear. No need to press the middle of the protector, adhesive is only on the edge.

I've used several of the cheap screen protectors which you have to cut out to fit the screen size of your equipment. After a month or so the corners begin to curl up, dirt enters the seen and you have to start the whole process over again. This protector is tough, pre-sized and incredibly simple to apply. No corners to curl here. I look forward to many years of use.

My camera wasn't well protected enough in my soft suitcase. I got it home and found the rear screen cracked up. I couldn't tell if it had affected the main screen, but it looked bad. I pulled that thing off and the camera screen was still perfect. The best [$] I ever spent on a piece of camera equipment. It goes on real easy too. There are cheaper imitations, I'm sure, but this one held up to a pretty strong direct hit.

I wasnt sure about this protector till I got it and put it on myself, I put it on my 5D Mark II and it fits great, went on with no problems, cant even tell its on the screen, plus it protects my screen from damage. I can still see the images fine with the protector on

I got this on a whim thinking some extra protection for the screen would be good. I also got a Black Rapid cross-body camera strap, and it turns out I'm very glad to have this screen protector. The way the camera lays against my body (and sometimes my backpack) can end up scratching my screen, so this turned out to be a great purchase. Thus far I haven't noticed my screen being dimmed or foggy due to this, but it's still brand new.
