The brown/tan Velocity 7x - Photo Sling Pack from Tamrac opens up a world of shooting possibilities for you. It's rated to hold your DSLR with a 6" lens attached, two extra lenses and various accessories. The camera is held facing down in shooting position supported by padded, movable internal dividers. The pack is ostensibly worn on your back but can easily be swung to the front for rapid access as a sling pack. The comfortable strap is padded and distributes the weight evenly making this pack a joy to tote around. There's also a top carry handle for quick grab situations. The pack is made from rugged 600D PolyTek.
The pack is characterized by a front Quick Flip Top that open away from your body providing both rapid access to the camera as well as helping with security since no one around you will be able to see inside the pack. There's also a unique Tuck-A-Way Waist Belt that can be rapidly deployed when you go hiking or ride your bike. The belt adds significant stability to the pack by preventing it from shifting around while you're active. The top lid features an inside accessory pocket for anything small like a lens cap or memory card. In the front, there's a larger zippered accessory pocket that contains multiple slots for everything from your smart phone to memory cards. And speaking of memory cards, the Velocity 7x employs Tamrac's exclusive Memory & Battery Management System that is comprised of little red flags that can indicate which are fresh cards or batteries and which are expired or used up.
In addition, the pack makes use of Tamrac's very versatile Modular Accessory System that will permit you to add on additional pouches to hold anything from another lens to a water bottle. Weighing in at a mere 1 lb 9 oz, the Velocity 7x combines the advantages of both a backpack and sling pack and can make your shooting more expeditious and fun.

I'm a beginning photographer (well new to having a dSLR) and wanted a bag that would carry a couple of lenses and an external flash (when I get one). I bought this bag at the suggestion of my brother who has owned the smaller Velocity 5x for a while now and really likes it.
I like the flexibility of the bag with the compartments inside that are created by velcro cushions that can be moved as you need them creating deeper or more shallow compartments. I also like the way the bag spins around on my body presenting my camera to me so that I can remove the camera from the bag without removing the bag from my body. The only thing I can think of that would have made this a little better would be if the main compartment zipper had a two pulls on it like the auxiliary compartment zipper has. It would be nice to be able to open the zipper either from the right, left or middle. In fact, I was surprised when I got the bag this wasn't the case. In the picture of the bag you can clearly see the two pulls on the front compartment. But, I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Unfortunately my 70-200mm lens arrived the same day as the backpack and the lens was too long for the backpack. I didn't think to look up the lens dimension before ordering the bag. My bad. That being said, I found it impossible to arrange all those velcro pieces in a space that narrow. They stick to everything and you just can't position them. I wish there was a better solution than velcro. Snaps perhaps?

This bag is the greatest! Very lightweight, compact and wears with ease. Has just enough room to travel light and also carry your wallet, sunscreen, keys, and small tripod. Very comfortable and practical - also looks good!

I use this bag to carry my canon 60d with 18-135 kit lens and my tamron 70-300,spare battery, charger, memory cards, lens covers. The bag that came with the camera was pretty good but a bit bulky, the tamrac is more compact and holds almost as much and distributes the weight much better.

I Use this pack keep from carrying my big bag and all my extra stuff at home. The only drawback is it is a tight fit for my 30D and 300mm lens but it does fit.

Needed something light weight but durable. This bag is easy to load, easy to access and has plenty of room for the accessories I need. I would like to have had a small slot in back for id, credit cards, etc., but it is a minor inconvenience.

Comments about Tamrac 5767 Velocity 7x Sling Pack (Brown with Tan):
For my purposes this bag is an excellent execution of good storage in a non-bulky sized bag. I have a D90 with a zoom, 2 prime lenses and a flash packed snugly in it. Access is very convenient. I like the over-the-shoulder form factor and the generous outer pouch. A clasp over the top zipper makes it hard for someone to sneak up behind you in a crowd and open the bag. Construction seems to be high quality. Only minor gripe is that the shoulder pad is positioned to be useful for someone shorter than I.
