The Tamrac 5765 Velocity 5x Photo Hip Pack Convertible (Brown with Tan) is a 600 denier PolyTek bag made to hold a digital or film SLR with zoom lens attached (up to 5.0" long), additional lenses and a flash. Inside the main compartment, the camera with lens attached is suspended on two vertical, foam-padded dividers. The bag converts from a shoulder bag to a hip pack with the Tuck-A-Way hip belt. The cinch straps on the hip belt help stabilize the pack. There is a Quick Flip Top that opens away from the body for easy access to the gear.
The front pocket has organizer pockets inside, to keep a mobile phone, PDA or photo accessories within easy reach. The bag has a Memory & Battery Management System that uses red flags to identify available memory cards and batteries from ones that are used up. The case uses the S.A.S. (Strap Accessory System) and M.A.S. (Modular Accessory System) products to customize bag.

Comments about Tamrac 5765 Velocity 5x Photo Hip Pack Convertible Bag (Brown with Tan):
I use this for hiking/biking with my Pentax K-r or *istDL. The padded middle socket of the main section holds either quite well w/ 18-55 kit lens attached, and there's enough room on either side for additional longer zoom lenses.
The best part of this pack is the construction. It's very solid. The fastex buckles are all very stout....the stitching is very strong. Thick cordura like fabric with some nicely colored stitched in tamrac and Velocity 5 accents on the main flap. There is also a circle of reflective piping on the face of the pack, but it seems to be wearing off to some extent. The zippers are small, but seem to slide easily. The top flap has a dual pull zipper that opens a trap door to access camera without unhooking the large fastex buckle. Very nifty!
I would disagree with Mike somewhat about rapid deploy....at least for packs of this kind. It slides around quite nicely and one can pull out camera quickly for a shot. The way I use it is with both the waist belt and the shoulder harness....either way it's still easy to spin around.
If I had to make a comment remotely negative it would be the extra pockets. They're okay....mine didn't have the red tag system mentioned. The larger pocket of the three is fairly substantial and has room for a couple of sets of batteries or filters in separate sleeves. Attached to the main extra pocket is a half sleeve of flexible mesh that can hold something that doesn't slide around, but I wouldn't put anything critical in there. Tucked into the underside of the top flap is a long, but narrow zippered pocket for memory cards (will hold sd, but probably not the older compact flash if in their case). It is mesh with a clear plastic coating for water resistance. These pockets are definitely not a deal breaker, but considering the rest of the pack's strengths, they could have been a bit more substantial.
All in all, this is by far the best pack I have ever used to carry my DSLR. It's compact but has plenty of room....esp. for entry level models.

Comments about Tamrac 5765 Velocity 5x Photo Hip Pack Convertible Bag (Brown with Tan):
This bag is not for the rapid deploy, speed demon. it's a casual, compact, low profile, camera bag.
It has enough room for my K7 with DA SMC 17-70mm stowed in the center bay, flash to the left 18-55mm on the right with a 2oomm M mount (not zoom old pentax telephoto lens) on top of that. a few cleaning supplies up front and spare SD cards. The strap that is on the bag has metal length adjusters that seem kinda cheap does not go with the bag so to speak, shoulder pad has padding sufficient enough for the weight in the bag. have not tried the waist belt. Color is a nice deep brown, with light brown insets, very subdued. It looks like a camera bag to me so, I suppose that's what it looks like to everyone else including the theives.
easy to carry.
