This Equinox 2.5" LCD 6" Monitor Back w/ 1/8 Mini Plug replaces the rear plate on all Equinox HD6 and Pro6 underwater housings. The monitor has a large 2.5" color active matrix LCD display that makes framing easy even in bright sunlight.

Comments about Equinox 2.5" LCD 6" Monitor Back w/ 1/8 Mini Plug:
Anyone with the Equinox (or any underwater video camera) must have an LCD screen, it's the only way to see anything! It is a bit pricey, but it's necessary and will make your filming way more easier and fun. So bite the bullet, pay the extra money to make your hobby more professional; your results won't disappoint you.
It's very simple, very straight forward to use, it just lacks the little bells and whistle button functions that other more expensive back panels have.

Comments about Equinox 2.5" LCD 6" Monitor Back w/ 1/8 Mini Plug:
This rear face plate with mounted monitor fixes the biggest problem with the equinox housing, the fact that it is near impossible to see what you are actually shooting when in the water. The monitor makes it possible to frame your shot and see what you are doing when you attempt to zoom or anything like that.
The three things that I find a little annoying are:
1) The monitor can be hard to turn on and off when in the housing. The lever that is meant to do this job cant be pushed in all the way, or pulled out all the way in order to correctly move the on/off switch. With glare and reflection there is some difficulty turning it on when turning it on out in the water.
2) There is no battery indicator for the monitor itself. Easy enough fix, just plug it in every time before you use it, but It still would be nice to know how much of the battery is left.
3) The cable jacks that plug in to both the camera and the monitor are long enough that the cables that lead away are being pushed (almost pinched) by the walls of the housing. Also the cables run around the Camera Operation Levers, so before you seal it all up, make sure the cables are not actually blocking any of the levers, or run up in-front of the camera lens.
Overall Im glad I bought it. It defiantly made it easier to shoot video with the underwater housing. I would highly recommend getting some kind of monitor when shooting with the equinox housing, and his one does the job without you having to rig up anything or worry about leaks.
