Comments about JVC GY-HM700L17S ProHD Solid-State Camcorder w/Fujinon 17x Zoom:
Very comfortably use this camera in any of these production styles: documentary shoots, Run&Gun News & Efp shoots.
Camera always makes beautiful video pictures..
It offers all necessary pro features. ie: dual xlr inputs, TC, GL, Great size LCD color screen, a sharp optical VF.. and Many choices in professional battery systems.
Just wished JVC gave this camera a larger image sensor. (ie: 2/3") But at this great price range, Not sure if they could have done otherwise.

Comments about JVC GY-HM700L17S ProHD Solid-State Camcorder w/Fujinon 17x Zoom:
Handling of warranty issues on this gear is slow and careless. I have this camera with 12 hours on it in the shop still under warranty and unavailable 6 months. Buyer's beware

Comments about JVC GY-HM700L17S ProHD Solid-State Camcorder w/Fujinon 17x Zoom:
After owning one of these cams I have been pleasantly surprised with its quality and ease of use. Nice design and a solid shoulder mount camera. We shoot with studio cams, handhelds and all but I have grown tired of handhelds. We have yet to experience a single major issue with the camera.
There are weaknesses though. Depth of field on such a small set of chips isn't something easy to deal with. On one shoot we had to back off 10 meters to get the depth of field we desired. There is also the issue of graininess when shooting in low light. Still, we could work around that for the most part. One good issue is that it still uses the CCD so all we had to deal with was smearing and knowing how to use your f-stop took care of that. I just WISH that camera manufacturers would go back to larger chips and that would solve a number of issue.
The earphone is a bit of a disappointment as it is at least better than nothing but no where near what the old JVC 5000 and 5100 series cameras had. Controls are great, solid and responsive.
Still with all this said, I love shooting with this camera as much as my staff does and it is pretty hard to beat with the price, lens options, power options etc.
