Comments about Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6300 Large Format Printer (24", 61cm):
This is an impressive printer. Canon has worked most of the bugs out of the 6100 series, made the thing really easy to use, with a great dynamic and gamut range. The included profiles for Canon papers are very good. The only real problem I have is with Canon's confusing naming of its own papers, so it's sometimes hard to figure out whether you are selecting the right paper. On the other hand, if you use only a few papers that you like and work for your needs, this isn't really a problem

Comments about Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6300 Large Format Printer (24", 61cm):
After reviewing the options, I purchased the 6300 as I wanted to print from rolls and wanted the Lucia extended ink. If I have not wanted that, I would have opted for the 5100 or an Epson.
Once I finally got the printer into its new home (its a big one and takes two people), the set up was very straightforward and I was printing in about an hour. The biggest issues are configuring the printer driver when switching between roll and sheet feeding- this can be frustrating at times, but is doable. The quality of the printed images is breathtaking with little to no bronzing or gloss differential. Images printed on PPF150 look like cibachromes (if you like that look) but images looks equally good on all the papers I have tested so far. I have mostly used non canon papers (Moab, Hanny and Museo) with good results with their 6300 profiles. The Pictorico profile for PFF150 is not as good and I may have to break down and buy my own printer profiling tool (monitor already calibrated). I have not needed to bother with specific media configuration, have just picked a canon paper media profile similar to the paper I use with good results. In the few cases where I set a custom media configuration it was easy but uses a fair amount of paper.

Comments about Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6300 Large Format Printer (24", 61cm):
I purchased this printer to take most of my professional printing in-house. The iPF6300 has exceeded my expectations. With a properly profiles workflow (i1 photo) this printer is nearly 100% screen to print match. I print primarily on Harman or Red River papers and am very happy with the output. The inks are wonderfully consistent and printer runs amazingly lean on ink.
I will admit to not having tested any of the recently released competing products from Epson, but the Epson pro printers I have used in the past were more effort than I preferred to get consistent prints. The Canon plug-in for photoshop is not overly complicated, but very powerful at the same time.
Highly recommended!

Comments about Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6300 Large Format Printer (24", 61cm):
I am blown away by the quality of the prints this machine can produce. I had read that it's new inks had a 20% improvement on the previous colour gamut, and that it used less ink than previous models, but it excided my wildest hopes on print quality. If you are used to the typical CMYK print that comes from a printer then the 12 ink tanks this machine holds is going to blow your mind! I have printed images with such saturation and tonal range the image appears backlight. If quality is important to you, and perfect reliable colour is your goal, you would be crazy to look anywhere else.
I have rated this product 5 Stars because it has done everything it claimed it would and is superbly doing the job I bought it for. It may be premature as I cannot comment on reliability as it is still very new.
If I had to find a negative aspect about this equipment it would be the start-up process. Every time you turn the machine on it goes through a start-up sequence which includes priming the print head. This uses a small amount of ink and also fills the maintenance cartridge a little. This means it is more economical to leave it on permanently or only turn it on when you want to run a batch of prints. My main concern about leaving it on makes it vulnerable to lightning strikes and power surges.

Comments about Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6300 Large Format Printer (24", 61cm):
Upgraded from the iPF5100 in order to have the 24" capability for printing larger fine art images. It is a great printer as is the entire imagePROGRAF line. Of course the Canon rebate certainly helped. If you are looking for a premium professional class photographic printer this should be on your shopping list.

Comments about Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6300 Large Format Printer (24", 61cm):
Wide format printers just keep getting better. I've owned and extensively used an Epson 7600 and an HP Z3100; I've played with Epson's 11880 and 7880. This beats them all. It's relatively quiet and lightning fast. Print quality is as good as it gets. Color gamut is terrific, and blacks are very neutral. D-max is fabulous on gloss/luster papers. The printer driver software is straightforward to use.
HP's Z printers give a deeper D-max on matte papers, and there's much wider 3rd party support for Epson's printers. Otherwise you can't do any better.
Bonus: prints from the iPF6300 are considerably more scratch-resistant than those from the Epson 7880/7900, and vastly better than the HP Z printers.
Note: "easy set-up" is relative. All wide-format printers are a bit of a chore to get up and running. This was easier than the others I've set up.
