The Zacuto Striker is a light DSLR camera support rig that takes the gunstock and Gorilla Plate of the Target Shooter and adds a handgrip for waist-level support. Offering infinite adjustability and three points of contact for enhanced stability, the Striker is ideal for no-fuss run-and-gun DSLR video production. The included Gorilla plate attaches to the camera using a standard 1/4"-20 mount, and is joined to the rest of the Striker via a 15mm rod (also included). With the gunstock pressed against your body and the handgrip adding support from below, you can adjust height and angle for the most comfortable fit, lending your DSLR the ergonomics and stability of a camcorder.
Note! The Striker cannot accommodate a follow focus or matte box, as it does not have a baseplate. If adding more weight to the front of the camera, we recommend one of the Cinema DSLR Kits with a shoulder pad and counterbalance weight.

Before getting the Striker I did all of my DSLR work with no support with the exception of a view finder. Adding the Striker helps smooth out your camera moves as well as lessening fatigue on your shoulders and neck in turn helping you keep the camera steady.
I look back at some of the footage I shot w/o the Striker and I see more shaking due to fatigue.
The quality of build on these things is great. Very solid and the locking levers are far superior to any type of screw mount system. It's very light and works perfectly with the Z-Finder pro.
It's easy to remove the camera from the Striker and go straight to a tripod with the help of the baseplate. I just recently shot a wedding and this was a tremendous benefit.
Zacuto's stuff is not cheap and you pay for what you get. A very well designed and built product.
I plan to add a follow focus to the Striker in the near future. Another benefit to Zacuto's stuff is the ability to build on top of what you have.
The only negative I've found so far is that people have no clue as to what you are doing with this contraption connected to a camera. I always have to explain that I'm shooting video.

I use this for my Canon cameras, events, red carpets, doc style shoots and its awesome. Not having a over the shoulder rig is great in tight corners as you have no back end to worry about. If it's a lens and camera, maybe a zoom strapped up it's awesome, not heavy.
This is much better than the redrock because of all the angles you can adjust the rig to. Worth every Penny.

It has a high price tag but the free z-finder promotion bundling made me spend the funds. So far I love it. I could have probably gotten away with just the gunstock model but glad I have the option of the extra point of contact. Makes hand held shooting much easier!

OK, it's ridiculously expensive. But admittedly, it's really well built, holds the camera nicely, and helps deliver much much better video than just hand-holding your DSLR alone.

Think of it as LEGO parts for your DSLR. Great for taking stills or videos. Easy to put together or take apart. Great for traveling, very light and compact.

If you are using a DSLR handheld then this is what you need. I did a lot of research before I bought this product. I have to say that it was the best choice for me and what I do. There is a lot of flexibility with Zacuto. I like that I can add parts to fit my needs. If you have the money I would do it. Really nice design.

I love how nice and easy it is to adjust. I can get near monopod steady with this rig.
It is also way smaller than it appears on the pic.
