The Kata D-Light Bumblebee-210 Backpack (Gray) is a stylish, functional lightweight, protective backpack which is designed to carry camera gear and everyday personal effects, and can easily convert into a simple and useful daypack when not using or carrying a camera. The pack is made from lightweight, durable Ripstop nylon and polyester mesh exterior with TST rib structure that provides protective zones for the camera where it will most likely be impacted by shock, vibration plus Aeriform foam that is made of perforated super light laminated and reinforced EVA and EPE foams. The Yelloop interior is a bright yellow material for viewing the contents with ease and attaching any optional Modi-Vers dividers.
The D-Light Bumblebee-210 Backpack is designed with a double compartment concept; the lower compartment has a special padded camera insert and Aeriform dividers to fit a D-SLR with standard lens attached, 2-3 lenses (up to a 70-200 f/2.8 not attached), flash and accessories. In the upper compartment there is plenty of space for personal effects. When needed the camera insert can be removed and the zippered partition between the two compartments opened to create one large storage space. A rear laptop slot will hold most laptop computers with a screen up to 15.4". A variety of external pockets will store accessories and personal gear that need rapid access such as, wallet, phone, water bottle etc. The pack has tripod connecting straps that can be attached to the side of the backpack and a detachable rain cover for protection in rough weather conditions.
The D-Light Bumblebee harness system has a 3D soft molded foam back for comfort and ventilation, an Aeriform foam padded harness which is uniquely shaped to provide comfort and non-slip grip, an adjustable sternum strap and a stabilizing waist strap. There are 2 specially designed connection loops for the Reflex E camera strap that is used to carry the D-SLR camera comfortably and take the camera load off the neck. The EPH (Ergonomic Photo System) is designed with connection tabs to enable interconnections with other Kata products. There is an Insertrolley connection that is used to place the pack over a rolling bag handle, when this is in use the harness simply tucks out of the way.

If you need an outdoor or everyday backpack this is the one for you. It has just enough pockets for all your gear. Lots of straps to hold it securely to your body If youre hiking or moving around town. It holds my camera and lenses securely and easy to get too. I work for a major airline and it fits easily in the overhead bin or underneath the seat.

The best feature is that it is very light. The compartment design is not well though out, and leaves little opportunity for reconfiguration. Tough getting camera and gear in and out. Returned.

If you are looking for a bag with a good amount of space and protection this is it. I was able to fit in my camera gear (camera body plus three lenses), laptop, several books and other items with ease and do not have to worry about things getting damaged. Other than being a little on the heavy side it is a great product.

Flexible configuration. Super light weight as advertised, and fits comfortably for a smaller person such as myself. Sure nice to have one bag to carry than the multiple bags I use to carry. Found it more flexible to put the camera body in the large top compartment, rather than in recommended area and this provided even more room for lenses. I have 4 lenses in it and a flash too.

I bought this bag as a b-day gift for my husband after we got a digital slr camera for christmas. I chose this one specifically because it holds several lenses and your laptop. It's got a lot of pockets, seems durable and weather resistant. It seems lightweight for the size of the bag and all pockets are well padded.
There are a couple of things that aren't so great, but they aren't deal breakers. The laptop pocket is a little tight for my laptop. I have a 14 inch screen and it's a snug fit. But it will be nice to have everything we need in one bag vs. 2 or 3 different bags. The other thing is that even though it's lightweight the design seems chunky for the size of the backpack. My husband feels that for the laptop pocket to be so snug, you'd think it would be a thinner bag.

Getting stuck in Maine with a need for a backpack I bought one from a luggage store. It sold me on backpacks for air travel. I travel coast to coast many times a year and always take laptop and camera equipment. My worst trip last year was running through an airport with a shoulder bag and rolling suitcase. No more. What I've really needed is a backpack outfitted for more than laptops. There are so many wonderful design elements, from the yellow interior so you can actually SEE what's there, to the lower flap to access camera equipment. This item is well made and well designed.

PRO: lightweightCONS: In my opinion, Kata missed the mark on this one. The compartment design is not well though out, and leaves little opportunity for reconfiguration. I ordered this for traveling to Europe, thinking it would be good to have extra space. It was always a challenge to figure out how to fit my stuff in it. I would have returned it[...]Now it sits on my shelf in my studio.

Comments about Kata D-Light Bumblebee-210 Backpack (Gray):
I love that I can fit both my stuff and a camera in two separate compartments. Later when I want, I can take out the camera stuff and make both compartments into one by unzipping the center flap. In the bottom half I have a Canon 30D with a Sigma 18-200mm lens faced down in the middle slot with enough room to fit other stuff on both left and right slots. In the top half I love a lot but have found that it's smaller than I thought. I guess it looks small when you're used to looking down a regular book bag. After playing around with organization I have finally found to keep some room up top for future clothes or small lunches whenever I need it. I have found a new feature with the bag which I didn't see in the photos is the protection net for the camera compartment. The net is great so that stuff wouldn't fall out for some reason cause the bottom half opens up on you. The cool thing about the net is that it has a quick pull handle to unzip the net. Hard to explain but you'll see. The laptop compartment is great but I would like just a little more room for magazines or folders. All and all it's a great functioning bag and quality built. Just wish that the top half had more room.
