The bag is made from lightweight, durable Ripstop nylon and polyester mesh exterior, with a TST (Thermo Shield Technology) rib structure that provides protective zones for the camera where it will most likely be impacted by shock, vibration and Aeriform foam that is made of perforated super light laminated and reinforced EVA and EPE foams. It is also has additional protection from a specially formed, foam encased, spring steel Spine Guard and Honeycomb rigid panels that are formed and shaped. The Yelloop interior is a bright yellow material for viewing the contents with ease and attaching any optional Modi-Vers dividers. The modular interior allows removal of various components that are not necessary for a specific shoot.
The Pro-Light FlyBy-74 bag has a main compartment that will protect and organize a large amount of gear such as 1 to 2 D-SLR camera bodies with 6-8 lenses (up to 400mm), flash and many other photo accessories, that is partitioned with modular Aeriform dividers. Along the back panel is a full length Elasto-Guard 15.4" laptop compartment which when not in use just flattens out of the way. Travel documents and personal effects can be stored in the front flat external pocket. A Sneak-a-peek name tag holder discreetly located name tag pulls out when identification is required. Two tripod connecting straps can be attached to the front of the case. The bag is transported by vertical and horizontal handles, a removable, adjustable GSS Gecko shoulder strap and an included DTS Insertrolley attaches for wheel along transportation.

I had been looking for a rolling case to carry my gear around for a long time -it will usually include: a 15" laptop, a digital SLR, 2 lenses (mid range and tele lens), an external flash, a small audio recorder, cables, power cords etc and occasionally a video tripod head and perhaps a small compact digital camera for "note taking". This is my small capture and post production kit, which fits 'perfectly' in this bag.
Compact, slightly smaller than other rollies, perfect to carry on board plane and light. Some people may think the wheels don't feel as strong as they would like to, and perhaps will not like the fact that you can remove the wheels (as a matter of fact, you have to remove them for the bag to fit best on the overhead compartments) - but I think it is an advantage - you can use them to carry other things or you can make the bag even smaller when needed by carrying wheel-less on your shoulder with the strap. The best part of the wheels is the support it has for the bag to sit on when standing - other rollies don't have this, and have a tendency to fall forwards if carrying too much weight. Imagine your laptop and gear propelling forwards... nasty! - Not with this one!
Also, note, laptop is kept at the front, and not at the back, meaning your laptop will be sitting on top of your equipment and not the other way round, avoiding unnecessary damage to your computer because of being subjected to your equipments weight and pressure (I had a screen damaged because of this once).
Last but not least- if they stop you at security, you can quickly and easily flap the top open to show all of the contents of your bag without having to pull them out and place them in trays, nor creating long, inconvenient queues at the conveyor belt.
Strong, practical and light (VERY light): intelligent - made to fit the needs of pro, semi pro and amateur photographers, as well as digital videomakers - willing to travel light and easy. Enjoy!

Although this bag is extremely well made and holds a lot of gear, I ended up sending it back for these reasons: I didn't particularly like the wheels being separate from the bag rather than being built in. The wheels along with the handle need to be removed prior to stowing in the overhead, which I thought would be inconvenient. Also I didn't think there were enough pockets for things like memory cards, batteries, filters, etc. I really liked the yellow interior, however, which made it very easy to see what was in the bag. I gave this product three stars because it didn't fit my needs, but it may be perfect for someone else.

I have enough room to keep three EF lenses in this case along with my 7D body and my Af100 body. It offers strong protection and lot of space.

I bought this specifically to use when flying in regional jets, and just confirmed it fits in the overhad bins of the Embraer ERJ-145. I only had to remove the "insertrolley", and place it next to the bag in the same bin.
When I bought it I wasn't sure my cameras would fit with the vertical/battery grip in place, but it has enough space to fit my two Canon DSLRs (7D and 20D) with their battery grips at the same time my 14.1-inch WXGA+ (Lenovo T410) laptop is in the case.
I'm giving it only 4 stars because I believe a set of pockets for batteries, memory cards, filters and accesories should be added to this design, but right now I'm using some of the internal dividers to place these items together with the equipment. As the laptop compartment, even when a laptop is not present, touches the top end of the dividers, the small items remain in their place.

This bag is very high quality. You can tell its sturdy as soon as you get it out of the box. I can't help to feel cheerful when i open up and see the fun mango interior. It fits all our gear well and i am not anxious that it will be damaged in transit. I would recommend this bag.

This Pro-Light case is fabulous! The interior panels can be adjusted to fit your own storage needs, but has great space for a good amount of equipment. I currently have a camera body, battery grip, three lenses, three flashes and a few odds and ends, but still plenty of room for anything else I may need on a shoot.
The case is very light and even full of equipment it is comfortable to carry with the included shoulder strap. The included, removable dolly is a nice option for travel.

Finally - a bag that holds everything I need with me on a wedding shoot.
Lots of compartments with velcro dividers, so I can customize it for my gear.
The wheels work great. There's a shoulder strap and handle, for when you can't roll it.
Sturdy but not bulky.
Love it.....

First purchased the KATA 123-GO-20 backpack for equipment carry. Waste of money! Not enough space for all my gear (camera...lens...accessories...etc)
Then ran across THIS model KATA rolling case...
AHHH! Just right for efficient access and storing of my gear when on the go! Love it!

I was very pleasantly surprised with this bag. Was worried I wasn't going to be able to carry everything I was carrying in my old bag. Was I ever wrong. I transferred all my gear and low and behold I still had more room. I was able to add my bulky dual battery charger and another lense AND all my Cokin filters I carried in a separate pouch. I also love the yellow interior. Read about that on Kata's web site but didn't "get" what makes that a perk, but again I was wrong. It is so much easier to see things. I am a nature and wildlife photographer so most of my lenses are huge. I have several trips (airport) coming in the next 2 months and can't wait to NOT have to be lugging something over my shoulder.

Hello,
I bought this case at my arrival in New York.
I used it nearly everyday day, riding on the walkside of these street that are not always flat.
I had no problem during these 12 days, walking like 3 hours each day with it behind me.
Compact, discreet, and aesthetic would be the words to describe this product.
I would have slightly enlarged the space for the laptop in order to place a 15,6'' and not only a 15,4''. It close but not completly with a 15,6''.
Good Product.

I was a flight attendant for 30 years and know my bags! This one is well made and has some nice extras to keep my expensive equipment safe--- and easy to take from place to place. It holds 5lenses, two speed lights, countless batteries, and many other important camera equipment. It has an outer connection for a tripod, slot for laptop, and outside front pockets for plugs and cords. It also has shoulder straps so it can be carried off the wheels. The wheels expand out further for a smoother pull.

Comments about Kata Pro-Light FlyBy-74 Rolling Case:
I needed a light rolling case for wedding photography equipment and this was the perfect choice. Usually with two camera's strapped to me I don't have a shoulder to carry a case, so a rolling case was needed. I really appreciate the small details that make the case really light in weight (light foam interior, no heavy metal zippers or clasps). The removable trolly is a nice option though it does slip around when picking up the bag because it's not attached tightly enough. The look is sleek and size is appropriate for two flashes, two bodies, 3 various sized lenses and a laptop!
