Hoodman HoodMAG 3.0 3x Magnifying Eyecup for HoodLoupe 3
The Hoodman HoodMAG 3 is designed to replace the standard eye cup that comes with the HoodLoupe 3 LCD screen magnifier (not included). HoodMAG has a tighter fit than the original eyecup and will stay in place once mounted while providing 3.0x magnification. The slip ring mounted within your HoodMAG eyecup will allow diopter adjustment without rotating the eyecup. Diopter adjustment remains the same, just twist the HoodLoupe viewing end in or out to set for your vision.

It is a great addition to the HoodLoupe as it covers your entire eye and the view is much better. What I don't like about it is that it does not fit in the nice HoodLoupe's pouch! Indeed a must add!

I'm using this with a Canon T2i shooting HD only. I had the original eyecup without magnification that is now resting comfortably around 10,000 feet high in the Colorado Rockies. The 3x magnification really enhances my ability to focus and clearly check all of the corners of the frame for distractions and proper framing. I also appreciate how you can rotate the shade without changing the diopter setting. It isn't cheap, but it is worthwhile.

I use this with my Hoodman Loop and Crane. It is most useful for getting precise focus on distant scenes with long telephotos; a distinct improvement over the standard eyepiece that comes with the Hoodman 3.0.
The eye cup has an annoying habit of rotating itself around the optical axis between shots so I have to adjust it each time I use it, but this is a small price to pay for such a useful item.

The only con is that because of the extended eyepiece, once attached, the loupe won't fit in it's case.

The eyecup is easy to attach to the Hoodloupe. It forms to the eye and reduces extra light from getting in. I recommend this product.

I use the Hoodman Loupe for manual focus with Live View on the LCD display. The magnifier just makes it easier for me to see the contrast on the screen as I adjust the focus.

OMG, this dingus is fantastic! If you already have a hood Loupe, just get this. If you don't just get them both. The image is huge, and crystal clear. The difference it makes is REALLY significant.
Also- because it has it's own diopter, if you wear glasses, you'll no longer have to put them on / take them off to look through your viewfinder.
If you use live-view (I don't have it) this would be even more essential.
Two small negatives:
1: The whole this is rather bulky. I mounted mine with a velcro strap, on the bottom, so it hangs down when I'm using the viewfinder. Simple & effective.
2: The diopter has no click stops, you just turn the body, so it can easily get bumped out of adjustment. I simply put a dab of silicon glue on it to hold, which can be pulled off in the future.

I will never go a to shooting without it. I has helped me a lot and with it at the moment I can find out if somethings is wrong without discovering when I get home that something was not right.

This magnifying loupe for a Hoodman really works and cures my old eyes inability to see up close. Lots of diopter power. I think it is a winner.
