The Cavision 4 x 4" Low Contrast 1 Filter is a valuable filter to use when you are shooting in bright light and need to maintain control of the light balance in the shadow and highlight areas. It works by spreading the brighter light into the shadow areas as well as other parts of the image. This filter is especially valuable to video CCD shooters since that format suffers from a lack of latitude that is more characteristic of film cameras.
Cavision is a Canadian company specializing in quality filters for film, broadcast and video productions. They also produce a variety of equipment including 3 x 3" and 4 x 4" matte boxes, boom poles and wide angle attachments for TV cameras.
Note! Cavision Low Contrast Filters are available in various strengths with the higher numbers having the greater effect
