This Intova IC12 Underwater Digital Camera is really a kit that includes a 12.0 megapixel digital camera and an underwater housing. With this kit, you can take photographs as you explore the ocean world both above and below the surface. This easy-to-use camera is good to depths down to 180' (54.86m). Of course, it is also ideal for taking worry-free pictures in the rain, at the beach, or on the ski slopes. The camera features a 2.5" LCD display. This makes composing your photos a breeze.
The camera incorporates a 3x optical zoom lens and a capture resolution of 12 megapixels to provide beautiful images. The Fujitsu digital signal processor allows for fast processing speed, so you don't miss that fast-moving fish. Plus, the camera is loaded with features to make your shooting easy and fun. A selection of shooting modes built into the camera covers many common shooting situations including portraits, night portraits, night scene, candlelight, fireworks, text, sunset, sunrise, splash water, snow, beach and pet modes. Users are therefore ready to take perfect shots with a minimum of fuss and effort.
Other features include face detection, which tracks faces and automatically focuses and optimizes exposure for sharp, brilliant portrait pictures. Digital anti-shake captures sharp blur-free images. The camera has 32MB internal memory (10MB available for image storage), but accepts SD/SDHC memory cards to expand the camera's memory capacity to up to 16GB. You can also shoot HD video with this camera. The camera is powered by a Lithium-ion battery that is rechargeable through the USB port.
The camera flash can be used to take underwater photos, but an external strobe is recommended to improve color and reduce the illumination of particles suspended in the water. The Intova Slave Strobe is the perfect flash to use with this camera. The camera housing allows access to all camera functions.

Comments about Intova IC12 Underwater Digital Camera:
I use the intova ic12 with underwater housing to photograph hotel guests that dive with us at the Paradiso Resort Hotel in San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico. We dive with them and take their picture as a souvenir, so the camera spends all day in the water. It has been very useful and hasn't left me stranded...I was concerned about using it as the daily work-horse camera but it has proven to work well with what I'm doing. Thanks!

Comments about Intova IC12 Underwater Digital Camera:
You cannot beat this camera for the price. It takes great photos and decent video. I would also highly recommend getting the wide angle lens, even if you are just taking some vacation photos. It is well worth the money. If you are not using a strobe, remember to manual white balance and you will not be dissapointed.

Comments about Intova IC12 Underwater Digital Camera:
I purchased the Intova IC12 and housing just 2 days before I was to leave for a trip to Islamorada, Fl. Not only was the staff at B&H great in getting me this camera in a timely fashion but it was easy to quickly learn how to use and maneuver through the menus to get the best shots. We took this camera on a 4 day 6 dive excursion and it worked wonderful. Battery life and memory, along with my 4 g card that I installed, were perfect. There were some other very large cameras on the boat with us and, in my opinion; I was just as happy with my pictures as I was with seeing theirs. And...my camera was more compact which allowed me to also have a great dive and not be totally engulfed with a huge camera. By far the best diving purchase that I have made and I've been certified for over 20 years now. Couldn't be happier and I look forward to many more dives with my camera.
A big thanks to B&H and Intova for a great product.
