You just pop it in your DVD player grab your remote and camera and get ready to be educated in a way that you never thought was possible through the means of a DVD. This is my first upgrade from film to SLR digital camera. There are so many buttons and controls that I felt a little overwhelmed. This video is basic enough to get anyone started but intermediate enough so that if you are familiar with depth of field, ISO, shutter speed you will understand very quickly all the features of this camera.

I'm glad I got this. It's definitely helpful, as a complete newbie, to have someone explaining the camera. It is a little frustrating, when my camera doesn't do what it seems it should after following their instructions (as I've understood them), that I can't ask questions. So, of course, a real live class is superior to a DVD. But still, it helped get me up on my feet and feel less intimidated than trying to decipher the manual alone. Worth the [$], definitely.

Great private lesson! with easy to understand examples of feature being discussed. Suggested stops in lesson allow you to apply on your own camera. If confused, easy to replay and try again untill your comforatable with adjustment. Demo's are well done and easy to follow, much moreso than manual. I can envision replaying this several times over the years to pick up additional pointers. I'm now going to purchase the Blue Crane DVD for the 580 flash.

it doesn't take the place of reading the manual, but I thought it was definitley worth the money. I'm a visual person and it was easier for me to watch a DVD than read the manual right out of the box, especially since this is my first DSLR. I know I'll refer back to it more than once.
