When you are shooting from a table top or need a camera support for capturing close-ups or macro images, the Slik MINI II Tripod is the solution. Improving on its predecessor, the MINI, the MINI II includes Slik Speed-Release leg locks which are faster and easier to operate than traditional twist-lock legs and a built-in bubble level for help in precision positioning of the camera. Legs extend approximately 1.5" (38.1mm) to give the camera more stability and it reaches a maximum height of 8.66" (220mm) when the center column and legs are fully extended.
Just 8" (204mm) when completely collapsed and weighing less than a pound, the MINI II is easy to carry in a gear bag, backpack or suitcase. It comes with a 2-way panhead that has independent pan and tilt locks which let you tilt your camera and lock its position while panning or vice versa. The panhead is great for making videos with a compact digital camera or for following a moving subject.
A handy suction cup is connected to the bottom of the center column so you can temporarily affix the MINI II to glass or other very smooth polished surfaces.
Note: Maximum weight supported by the suction cup is 7 oz. (198 g), the weight of a typical compact digital camera. Never take your hands too far away from the MINI II when adhering it to a window.

Going on a trip and want to take a tripod so that you also can be in the photos with your companions or to capture the lights of the city or the stars at night? This tripod is a good choice. Although the head could be a little bigger, it works well with my D60 and 55-200 zoom, just line the lens up with one of the legs. Fits great in a small DSLR camera bag along with my three lenses.

This tripod works fine for what it is, but the fact that it only rotates one way is more of a problem than I anticipated. It can make it hard to level the camera if you also want to tilt it upward or downward. The tripods that do this start at about $30. It's probably worth spending the extra money to get this ability.

Comments about Slik MINI II Tripod:
I use this mini tripod for tabletop macro photography or for supporting a speedlight. This tripod is a lot sturdier than I expected. The suction cup on the end of the center column is a good feature used to assist in maintaining balance. The product is good, and the price is reasonable. I can't say anything bad about it.

Comments about Slik MINI II Tripod:
Small enough to fit in my backpack's side pocket.
Light enough to carry it all day - and every day.
Sturdy enough to support a small DSLR - even in portrait orientation.
Screwing-unscrewing camera is very easy, so I do not miss quick release at all.

Easy to use and setup, easy instructions to follow. I use it for macro shots. Only negative is it can be top heavy on it's shortest setting.
Comments about Slik MINI II Tripod:
This little tripod does it all even though it only does 1 thing. Holds whatever I put on it; HD projector, camera, digital recorder. Super sturdy and well built
for it's size. Perfect for taking it with you in your bag.
