The cap may be the best thing about the Nikon Coolpix P100. I've been a Nikon user for over forty years but because of an injury I can no longer carry full size SLRs. There's a contrast problem that make images very one dimensional, flat. I also use a Canon Powershot G9. I can't believe how the two cameras differ in quality. Even my pro friends agree. To give you some of my background I've had shows in 3 museums, 31 galleries in 2 countries.
