I have two of these. One I use to mount a BESCOR LED light to the camera hot shoe. The other I use to mount a small video camera to my still camera so I can simultaneously shoot stills and video of moving subjects.

Bought this to use on my DSLR Rig with my Canon 60d.It is a fantastic piece of machinery much better and sturdier than the cheap small $20 dollar units you can get at any photo shop.It is very well made and serves my purpose perfectly .I use it to mount my Zoom H4 onto my rig and it is very easy to adjust the zoom to see audio levels while recording. Bogen this is a winner. Will buy one more to support my monitor on my Canon 60D.

I use this Micro Ball Head to mount a Switronix TorchLED Camera light. It is robust enough to handle the weight of the light with no sweat. Manfrotto has always made good products this is another one. I highly recommend this for anything you need to mount on a video camera.

Comments about Manfrotto 492LCD Micro Ball Head:
If you need a dependable mount for a monitor or a recording device to add to your HDSLR, this is it. Yes, it costs 2X more than other alternatives, but your getting professional build quality, which means you don't have to worry as much about it breaking and damaging your monitor or field recorder.
I use it on my 7D and 5DII. I highly recommend it.

Comments about Manfrotto 492LCD Micro Ball Head:
A great alternative for those cheap, flimsy units that came with my 5.5" LED on camera monitor and LED light. I could never tighten them enough because of the very thin knurled tighteners. This unit is solid with a larger tightening knob that makes tightening much easier. I feel much safer now attaching my light and very expensive monitor.

I bought this to be used on a custom off shoe flash bracket. I like it for the build quality and the size (it's about as big a roll of quarters)
I only wish it had a lock to stop it from rotating freely at the base.

Comments about Manfrotto 492LCD Micro Ball Head:
I bought this because I wanted to put my field recorder (Marantz PMD661) on my Canon 7D. This Micro Ball Head fits it very well. I can rotate the recorder due to the swivel mounting. I am not planning to use it with a LCD Monitor, so I can´t say it will support that weight, but for a field recorder, the Manfrotto 492 LCD Micro Ball Head is perfect.
The only cons I found is the price. A little expensive if you compare with others, but I am not sorry for this purchase. I WOULD BUY THIS PRODUCT AGAIN

Does what it's supposed to. Secures quickly and firmly to both camera and accessory. Nothing much to say.

I'm not even sure if its supposed to hold that much weight (from my monitor with the battery), but this is the only ball head reliable enough to put in the hot shoe of my Canon 5dm2.

I use this mostly for a 7" Marshall monitor (and often with a Canon brick battery mounted on back). Works great so far.
