Let's start with the basics. With 2500 lumens of brightness at an 1800:1 contrast ratio it can project a brilliant image just about anywhere.
No matter what you use it for, you're going to love the crisp, vivid, saturated images its 0.65" Texas Instruments DLP DMD imaging chip creates.
They're illuminated by Casio's revolutionary mercury-free light source. It uses a hybrid laser-LED technology in which Casio is so confident they warrant it for three years or 6000 hours of use. (Its actual rated life is closer to 20,000 hours.) In an industry where 90 day lamp warranties are the norm, that's amazing. That represents safety and economy many a budget-strapped school district can appreciate.
But wait a second. This thing can do 720p, 1080i and 1080p high definition and it has HDMI, component and RGB inputs. That's means it would make a great home theater projector. And its color, brightness and compatibility with every gaming console on the market underscores its abilities as a great gaming machine. No TV can match the thrill of playing on a screen that can be up to five feet across, measured diagonally.
Take a closer look at those specs. It can project in the NTSC, PAL and SECAM video standards, it's got a 10-language OSD (on-screen display) and it's got a power supply that handles from 100 to 240 volts. It also comes with its own case and weighs just five pounds. With international credentials like that this projector is a corporate road warrior's dream.
So you'll have to make up your own mind. Is it an education projector? Is it a home theater projector? Or is it a corporate projector? We think no matter what kind of projector you're looking for, the Casio XJ-A240 Data Projector will do an outstanding job for you.

Comments about Casio XJ-A240 DLP Data Projector:
I bought this projector to give business presentations – and it is far better than the 3 to 5 year old projectors available in our department. The picture is sharp and bright – and the auto keystone correction works marvelously, keeping the screen image rectangular, not trapezoidal.
The noise of the projector in Eco mode (mid-power mode) is roughly the same as our other, older projectors. The sound is a little "buzzy", but after our presentations start, no one really notices. At Full power the projector is loud, but Eco mode is bright enough for our everyday usage. There is a Quiet mode that would work well in darkened rooms.
I really like the wideangle lens which lets us project a very large image with the projector a relatively short distance from the screen (wall, actually). Everyone in the company who has seen the image from this projector is wowed by the image size and lack of distortion.

Comments about Casio XJ-A240 DLP Data Projector:
I bought this projector to show presentations when I teach. I was amazed the first time I fired it up and it lit up the whole side of the room. I intentionally left all the lights on to see how bright it would be and it was very clear and easy to read text. With one bank of lights out at the front of the room and the others on when I made my first presentation, everyone commented on what a great picture and how clear it was. The fan on full mode is a bit noisy but in a large room it's not noticeable. I think in a smaller area the first eco mode would be fine. I'm going to give my husband his big screen for the next movie we watch. I haven't had it long enough to comment on how well it will hold up. So far I'm very impressed.

Comments about Casio XJ-A240 DLP Data Projector:
We purchased this projector because we were looking for a travel projector that offered us a wide screen aspect and higher resolution than our Dell 3400mp. I thought that the lampless Casio was going to be significantly quieter than the Dell. It was not. Not significantly noisier either. Nor lighter. However, it is a rugged little guy; constructed, it appears, nearly entirely out of metal. Not much plastic on it. You can notice a slight variation in color if you're displaying a mostly-white website, but boy, is this picture crisp and clear. Good brightness. My favorite thing about this projector is that I can fill the screen from a short distance away. We will use it primarily to demonstrate our website and show PowerPoints, and I feel that it will be well suited for both uses.

I purchased this machine for a family reunion in Hong Kong. So something that was light and could fit in my laptop bag was important. The fact that this machine was lighter than my laptop was a key selling point for me. At the event, everyone was really impressed at how bright it was.
It worked great for what I purchased it for; no complaints. I am thinking about using it for a home theater use case later on.

I looked at many projectors for a display that would have some natural daylight on it. This projector does a great job.

Comments about Casio XJ-A240 DLP Data Projector:
I wanted to start of by saying I enjoy writing comments due to me considering everyone's thoughts before buying a product. I also did wait a while before i loaded this rating due to making sure it was a more accurate rating (5 months). Using this portable unit as my Dj setup is a must (i connect it from a display port adaptor to HDMI).When i hit the switch it turns on quickly and the quality is in my favor. I mix music videos and enhance my night with visuals to top the night. Very easy to take down at any point of the night. You will notice the rainbow effect but L.E.D out performing any bulb is more towards my favor. Wishing i could of gave it a 5 but rainbow effect did stop me from that additional star.

Comments about Casio XJ-A240 DLP Data Projector:
Up until the hybrid light source came out, I never even considered getting a projector for home theater use. The idea of spending $400 and up for replacement mercury bulbs every year or so was not appealing. But this projector with an HD cable box and HDMI input, produce stunning color saturated and sharp images up to 144" (the size of our wall). It is bright, and the DLP rainbow effect is not even noticeable compared to the projector we use at work. I would highly recommend this product.

Comments about Casio XJ-A240 DLP Data Projector:
I am very happy with it other than it gets extremely hot so you have to hold the edges to move it when you are done (thus the 4 rather than 5 star).
The concept of a 20K hour lighting system with no mercury is great. I don't think it is as noisey as some say.
Used for indoor business presentations with small to large groups and it is perfect. I also used it to project outside at night against my house for movies & that was so fun I ordered a very large outside movie screen.
