I recently purchased a laptop computer and was searching for a larger monitor to use with it. I'm a photographer so I wanted to go BIG without a BIG cost. We used Viewsonic monitors at work for years so when I ran across this, I remembered the brand, trusted it and went with it. What a beautiful big display! I use the highest 1920 x 1080 setting and set my system text to 125% for easier reading. Editing my photography is a pleasure with all this space...nearly 24"! The ample selection of adjustment choices surprised me on a monitor of this cost. From auto to manual, most settings are there: contrast, brightness, color (including sRGB, 5000k, 6500k, 7500k, 9300k or user defined). After some tweaking I was able to come reasonably close to getting my prints and screen to match up, although not perfect, (the high end settings some photographers demand come with a very high end price), I am very satisfied with what this monitor does. The low cost is unbelievable to me. A+ for the money!

Nice monitor with crisp picture and easy setup. With Windows 7, you will need to update from the generic PnP monitor driver to the ViewSonic driver and then reboot in order to be able to choose the 1920x1080 resolution.
I found the built-in speakers to be underpowered, no better than the speakers in my laptop. However, the biggest disappointment was that this monitor only comes with a VGA cable, even though it is DVI-capable and any modern computer sold these days is also DVI-capable. So while on the surface this appears to be a good deal, once you add in the $20-25 for a DVI cable you may think otherwise.

Since these monitors have both VGA and DVI inputs, I am using 1 VA2431 w/VGA and 1 VA2431 w/DVI for an extended desktop from my laptop dock. Able to closely color match the two monitors. Manages the 16:10 (laptop) to 16:9 w/o distortion. Sound isn't great, but not why I buy a monitor - buy a 2.1 speaker set.

I use this monitor at home with my work laptop. I purchased a ViewSonic because I have had a great experience with another (smaller) ViewSonic monitor at work. The large screen size is great for spreadsheets and for viewing two pages, side-by-side at once. So far I am very pleased. The built in speakers are convenient as well.

This is really nice for a value priced monitor. Excellent picture and performance right out of the box. It provides a better picture and is easier to adjust than a similar priced LED ViewSonic we recently purchased. Will want to buy this LCD model again when we get an additional monitor. Have always had good luck with ViewSonic.

I had an old 17" Dell square monitor and I wanted a new monitor to use for surfing the web, business writing, pictures and some light gaming.
I like the built in speakers which allow space on your desktop for other items, although the speakers are not as substantial in terms of quality sound, they do the job well and are clear.
At the highest resolution, the monitor is very clear with no distortion. For the price on a monitor this large, you can't go wrong. I would give it 5 stars if the sound on the speakers was richer.
Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase.
