The eGo Helium Portable Hard Drive from Iomega is an excellent way to take your information with you on the go. The hard drive packs 500GB of storage space into a compact and lightweight body. The rugged design and drop guard feature are designed to keep your data intact and secure, even if you drop your hard drive from over four feet. The hard drive also includes a subscription to online data storage to further ensure that your information is stored securely in a variety of places in the event that your hard drive is lost or destroyed.
The hard drive is preformatted HFS+ for compatibility with MacBooks, while the silver finish complements the MacBook's unique aesthetics. The eGo is also compatible with PC computers.

Have had bad luck with iOmega drives lately.
This one made grinding noise when I started using it for the first time...waiting for a replacement, which I hope is better.

I use this product to back up all of my stuff from my Macbook Pro. I like the size and design along with not having to format it to my Mac. The initial transmission was a bit too slow but I understand that it was alot of data. Firewire would have been better but the price was good.
