Flip Video Action Tripod
The Flip Video Action Tripod gives you a multitude of options for recording with your Flip Video camera. Mount the camera on your helmet, handlebars, or other gear with this versatile system. You can also use the device as you would a traditional tripod. When stationary the tripod legs fold in or out, allowing for compact storage and a sturdy base when filming. And in addition, the tripod neck is adjustable to allow for recording at any angle.

I just got my Flip action tripod and it works great. It securely holds my Flip video on my ski helmet. It also works as a mini tripod on a table top or other flat surface. It also works on top of a ski or trekking pole to use as a monopod. The mounting screw is a standard tripod mounting screw so it will work with virtually any small camera.
All of the adjustment is done with 1 knob, I think 2 adjustment knobs would have been nicer. However the single knob design does make it much more compact.
All in all it's a great little tool.

I attached it to my Flip video camera in order to secure it to my bicycling helmet while mountain biking. If the trail wasn't so bumpy, it may have worked OK. But because I'm constantly riding over logs, roots, boulders, etc., the weight of the camera kept causing the unit to move its position on the tripod. Therefore, the unit constantly changed its position and scenes were not being recorded properly.

Works fine, cheap plastic but still pretty sturdy. Used on my bike, guitar and my puppy. Velcro straps have a good hold, though I wish the straps had some type of tightening mechanism like a guitar strap.
Would recommend to anyone on a budget.

I ran this little tripod through the gauntlet shooting a Documentary on a horse back riding therapy camp for kids and I found that the locking screw for adjusting the angle of the head is very hard to tighten. the camera would come lose after a few minutes, i think it's a combination of the top heavy flip camera and that the hard to tighten lock screw. it's just to small to get a good grip on. a single lever design would allow more pressure to be applied. but other than that it's the next best thing to a GoPro and mount.

Does exactly as advertised, mounts pretty securely to anything you can fit the straps around. I think the biggest object you could strap it on would be around the skinny part of a side mirror on a car, also one of the best [$] desk tripods I've used, doesn't seem to be as flimsy as most in this size and price range. Especially perfect for flip bu I imagine it will work with any camera that's not too heavy.
