The Impact PowerSync16 Transmitter is one-half of the PowerSync16 radio slave system for triggering flash units up to 590' (180 m) away indoors, or 200' (60 m) outdoors using the AC receiver or the DC receiver (both available separately).
PowerSync16 has 16 digitally coded channels available so you can even work at events with other photographers without flash or radio interference. You can trigger as many flashes or cameras as you like from this one transmitter, as long as they're all on the same frequency and have a PowerSync16 receiver. Flash sync speeds of up to 1/250 second are possible with PowerSync16.
This transmitter operates on one 3V CR2450 battery. The PowerSync system is not designed to perform in TTL mode with flash units - camera and flash must be set to Manual Mode.

Comments about Impact PowerSync16 AC/DC Transmitter:
I am new to wireless flash photography. I was planning on buying the Pocket Wizard, but the B&H rep told me that this was a cheaper option. It is a less flexible system, but for the type of photography that I do - it is perfect AND it is significantly smaller.
I've used it on a handful of shoots and it is great.

Comments about Impact PowerSync16 AC/DC Transmitter:
I started out firing my strobe lights with a cable. In addition to the distance restrictions, I was always having trouble keeping a good connection. I then moved to an infra-red trigger, which solved the connectivity problem, but still restricted my movement to line-of-sight. The Impact Powersync Has removed all of the restrictions and has worked flawlessly.

Comments about Impact PowerSync16 AC/DC Transmitter:
Works very well indoors and outdoors. Not subject to limited range, line of sight, and light interference that haunts IR-type flash triggers.

Comments about Impact PowerSync16 AC/DC Transmitter:
I bought three of these together with the receiver as I use several different cameras within the same studio session.
These transmitters are small, reliable, easy to use and allow a reasonably fast synchro speed.

Comments about Impact PowerSync16 AC/DC Transmitter:
I recently switched from the PocketWizard TT5 radio slave to the Impact slaves and I am very happy now. The impact slave don't have some of the fancy features like the PocketWizards, such as high speed sync and TTL metering. But they do one thing the PocketWizards don't, THEY WORK.
With the PocketWizards I had to use their "RF Shields" to get them to work with certain flashes, and had problems getting them to sync with my Canon 5D Mark II. They are work-arounds for most of the PocketWizard issues, but they are a real hassle.
I wanted radio slaves that I could simply attach to my camera and flashes and they would fire. The Impact slaves do just that. I shot a roller derby tournament this weekend that was held inside of a large golf dome. I set up a couple of flashes on light stands and the Impact slaves fired every time.

Excellent for the price. Say goodbye to annoying sync cords. Easy to attach, performs as advertised, and the small size does not interfere at all.

Comments about Impact PowerSync16 AC/DC Transmitter:
I was skeptical at first but the "Impact" B&H house brand is not that bad. Since I couldn't afford Pocket Wizards, I decided to give this a try. The many positive reviews on this item proves true. It feels sturdy and it looks slick. The range on it is more than I will ever need. Pretty easy to setup. Comes with all the cords you will ever need. I would recommend this item to those looking for pocket wizard alternatives. I WAS deciding between these and the Cybersyncs by Paul Buff. I chose Impact because it has an on/off switch while the cybers dont.
I gave it 4 stars out of 5 because the antennea is not rigid and can get bent in your camera bag.

Comments about Impact PowerSync16 AC/DC Transmitter:
I use the transmitter and receivers about every week end when I go out and shoot photos. It is extremely easy to set up and use if your in a hurry. Another good thing is that it's way cheaper than the pocket wizard.

Comments about Impact PowerSync16 AC/DC Transmitter:
Awesome reliability and durable. I would suggest adding a steal lightstand shoe mount if you are rough with your gear. The transmitter and receiver are well constructed and very handy to use. The transmitter has an on- off switch to quickly go from artificial to natural light when shooting models. I love them!!! It's one of the best investments I've done for my business. Thanks Lightenupandshoot for your genius advice!!!

Comments about Impact PowerSync16 AC/DC Transmitter:
I tested out the Pocket Wizard before buying the PowerSync16 AC/DC Transmitter by Impact, which I liked.
The PowerSync16 AC/DC transmitter works just as well, if not better than the Wizard. For half the price you can't beat the IMPACT. I have used it several times, and it never miss fires. If your going shot flash off camera, and you should be, buy it. You'll love it!

Used this in conjunction with the receivers to trigger some seriously old flash units in a small studio setup. Probably overkill, but they never skipped a beat.

Comments about Impact PowerSync16 AC/DC Transmitter:
The receiver works pretty well, The only thing is that I hope the manufacturer can provide more info on the life span of the receiver, the functions of different holes on it, etc. The unit a bit bulky IMO. But in general it is a rigid piece. I have had it for only less than a week, tried it out in two sessions, never missed a fire yet.

Comments about Impact PowerSync16 AC/DC Transmitter:
This is definitely a well made and thought out radio slave. The plastic is of good quality with metal screw mounting if needed. So far the two units have worked faultlessly and have a good range so I would recommend them. The hot shoe mounted transmitter is of the same good quality and the only thing that could be better is that it mounts upright and so sticks up and can get a little in the way, other than that, it's a great product that has worked out of the box with no misfires.

Comments about Impact PowerSync16 AC/DC Transmitter:
Haven't had a chance to use extensively, but from a couple of brief shoots it performed flawlessly. Build quality is relatively good (better than the cheapest radio triggers), but casing construction could be better.
Far superior range to ST-E2 (a mediocre product of Canon's), but of course doesn't run ETTL metering.

Comments about Impact PowerSync16 AC/DC Transmitter:
First I would like to say I purchased Interfit triggers 8 months ago. They are junk the units just stop working. After review many medium price triggers I went ahead and purchased the Impact triggers. From the instruction manual to the triggers these puppies are really nice. Well made and easy to use. I plan on purchasing another set. I can not say enough about the Impact triggers. If you're in the market for a set of triggers you can not go wrong with Impact.
