I train in law firms on the use of Microsoft Office, and have used every version since I started using Word 2.0. This is a very good update to Office 2007, which was a jarring, but necessary, departure from Office 2003. The restoration of the File menu/tab shows me that Microsoft listens to their customers, most of whom didn't like the Office button. I have primarily been using Outlook, which now incorporates the ribbon interface throughout the product. It's sleek and intuitive, with many new features. If you're using a version of Office prior to Office 2003 (I was limping along with Offic XP/2002), I would recommend upgrading. While Office 2003 is a good, stable product, you'll probably want to look at upgrading. If you're using Office 2007, and you miss the File menu and would like the ribbon interface through Outlook, I would recommend upgrading.

I gave this product 3 stars because my wife claims it's not near as intuitive as her office suite for mac.
Either way, for my limited needs - it works fine. I run windows7 through a virtual machine on my macbook pro. The only reason I bought this software was so that I could export excel files out of my quickbooks. For that purpose, this program works fine.

I work as an accountant and use Excel a lot. Outlook is a must for managing my email. The new ribbons set me back at first; they were too big and too busy (too much info in my face all at once). Not a good thing for people with ADD. It took awhile but I was able to create ribbons that work for me. The main icons are too big and the Quick Access icons are too small, but I'm gradually getting used to them. There are new items that I like; eg, the ease in setting up frequently used margins and paste options. So, all in all (after a period of adjustment), I'm quite happy with Office 2010.

By far the best Office version to date, and B&H had the best price.

Comments about Microsoft Office Home and Business 2010 Software:
We purchased 14 copies of this to deploy in a small-business. I was rather worried about the hassle this would create, but somehow MSFT (Microsoft) seems to have gotten their installer fixed this time around. So far, all the workstations i've installed this on have taken it 100%, without errors, without problems with the registery or old versions or... you know, all those stupid problems that MSFT installs tend to have which requires you to jump through random hoops [*] without any helpful support from MSFT. Anyway, it's been good so far!I will say though, that at the price point they ask, there are barely any new features. Seems like they do what all developers are doing nowadays--moving things around, changing some skins, then calling it a new product and selling it full price.

I use the word documents and excel spreadsheets. I have older versions of each, and so far, had no trouble reviewing and/or updating them. I did find it slightly difficult to navigate in the excel worksheet having used the earlier versions. However, using the ? help icon, I was able to find the information. Excel has a lot more 'bells & whistles', but quite frankly, I was happy with the older versions. I like the fact that this package allows me to add this software to my desktop as well as my laptop without any added expense.

Have had some software issues that required Tech calls. They were resolved but required time, which I don't have.
Still learning. I like the look of the programs on screen.Pull-down menus in different places from XP.
Have only had 2010 Professional for 10 days. Ordered a tutorial to help me get up to speed with it.

I honestly tries many times to switch to Open Office. But it could not offer the same level of working comfort MS Office does. Small nuances is what it is all about. Will stick to MS.

I love the ribbon on all the programs - they now all function the same. Outlook now allows you to link in hotmail. It also IMAPS gmail as well. All my contact information is in one place and it ties into my phone.
