Comments about J-Rod Super-Strong Twin Mic Mount:

I've had my ex1 for three years now and have had the supplied plastic microphone mount broken as many times. This product is a simple solution that replaces the Sony support with a much more substantial base, allowing a proper shock mount for a shotgun mic. Love it! Plus you can hang a mic receiver from it as well.

Not much to say, adds flexibility when you don't have enough room up front. Ust it on my EX3.

Comments about J-Rod Super-Strong Twin Mic Mount:

Use this with my EX1-R as the supplied Sony mic holder does not properly fit my Sennheiser shotgun mic, so I'm better off having the extra shoe mounts on the camera right side. Nice addition.

Attached to my Sony ex1. After reading one customers review I was worried that the screw holes would not line up. I took the chance and when I put it in place it lined up perfectly on my ex1! Super happy with it.

Comments about J-Rod Super-Strong Twin Mic Mount:

Unit has just been purchased and the only thing I tried is to mount it on XDCAM EX1.
This is the problem I am finding: Once you remove the original mic mount of Sony XDCAM EX1 and try to attach this J-Rod mount you will find that XDCAM EX1 has 2 mounting pins molded into the camera body. And the slot in J-Rod mount does not line up correctly with those pins. So instead of neatly seating in the pins, the new mount sits on top of the pins and doesn't sit correctly. You would have to either remove the original XDCAM EX1 pins or make additional slots in J-Rod, which is what I am going to do. The item can not be used as purchased and needs to be fixed.

This replaces the microphone clamp on the Sony EX1 & EX3 cameras with a solid aluminum mount. I can now attach my radio receiver and use a shock mount for my mic. This thing will never break!
