The SureFire G2D Fire Rescue Variable-Output LED Flashlight provides emergency service personnel such as firefighters and paramedics with a flashlight that is both high performance and durably built. Along with a tough Nitrolon polymer body this flashlight sports a hard-anodized aluminum bezel and tailcap switch that is resistant to corrosion and scratching.
The G2D Fire Rescue also features a deep grid pattern design, which together with the extra long fluorescent lanyard (cord) will give you a better hold on the flashlight even with gloves on. Both the flashlight and lanyard are fluorescent coated for high visibility in the dark.
The flashlight's micro-textured reflector ensures a smooth, optimized beam. In high mode this flashlight outputs 115 lumens which is nearly six times the brightness of a two D-cell flashlight.
To save battery time this flashlight offers a medium mode of 60 lumens and a low mode of 15 lumens. A single pushbutton tailcap click enables easy switching between the three modes. Power is supplied by two 123A batteries which provide a runtime of up to 2 hours in high mode, up to 7 hours in medium, and up to 32 hours in low mode.

Using this flashlight for hunting, fishing, and private property security, I wanted variable-output capability, to minimize battery drain at close range, yet reasonably illuminate out to 100 yards. The G2D completely satisfies the demands of my outdoor encounters, along with diffusers to customize the beam widths. A blue filter can be purchased for blood trailing. The included lanyard keeps the G2D always accessable. The color, along with reflective stickers, keeps it highly visiable at night. Surefire makes a 6 stage variable, but the G2D was reasonably priced, with all the above accessories plus 2 Surefire batteries included. Also, B&H Photo was the cheapest internet retailer when I searched for this purchase !
